France's Phoenix have just released the video for their new single 'Entertainment'! 'Entertainment' is the first single (available now on iTunes) from their forthcoming new ten track album (their fifth) called 'Bankrupt!' which will be released on April 22nd by V2 Records. This is the rather unassuming cover art:
This video is actually the third we've featured in as many days that doesn't feature the band at all. In fact it features other people performing the song as was the case in Beach House's video for 'Wishes' (they both also feature fireworks) but this time the setting is North Korea and there's plenty of drama afoot... SummersRadio™ New Music! Primal Scream - '2013' (Weatherall Remix)/ '2013' (Full Length Official Video)
Primal Scream have just released a new song online called '2013'! '2013' is the first song to surface from their forthcoming new album (their tenth) called 'More Light' which will be released on May 13th.
'2013' will be released physically as a three track twelve inch single on April 8th that features this remix by Andrew Weatherall, along with a 'Weatherall Dub' version (no info yet on the digital release). The band seems to be in rock mode here - as opposed to some of their more industrial and electronic sounding releases... Enjoy!

Baltimore dream pop duo Beach House have just released a new video for their latest single 'Wishes'! 'Wishes' is the fourth single released from their album 'Bloom' which came out last spring on Sub Pop.
The video is a surreal mockery of half time shows that are always trying to upstage themselves. It features actor Ray Wise as the coach/ vocalist who's starred in 'Twin Peaks' and more recently 'Mad Men' and it's directed by Eric Wareheim of 'Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!' fame - so you know it's going to be twisted... SummersRadio™ Classic! New Order - 'Blue Monday' (Vandalism Remix)
New Order's club classic 'Blue Monday' is 30 years old today - released by Factory Records on March 7th, 1983! The song also has the distinction of being the best selling 12" single of all time, having sold 1.16 million copies in the U.K. alone.
There's certainly no shortage of remixes of this song released over the years - this is a tasteful update from Kurd Maverick which was released in 2009 called the 'Vandalism Mix'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Remix! Renato Cohen - 'Pontape 2013 Remake' (Alan Fitzpatrick Remix)
I reckon you need a big tune to follow names like Daft Punk, Boys Noize, Chemical Brothers, and Justice - and so I present to you a new remix of Renato Cohen's 2002 classic 'Pontape'!
The Brazilian producer has released a new two track EP under the title 'Pontape 2013 Remake' that features the original 2013 version as well as a new remix by South Hampton's Alan Fitzpatrick. It's released on the Drumcode label and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/pontape-remixes/1043306
Neither artist strays too far from the original - and in this case it's the way to go - as the relentless intensity of the original is too good to waste. Fitzpatrick does add a few new sounds that add another level to an already massive tune... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ Commercial Break! Daft Punk - New Tv Ad!
Daft Punk are a duo of mystery. I was lucky enough to meet them in their early days - in '97 - before the masks. Interestingly Canada was the first country to give them a gold record - it went gold here before even the U.K. and France. I had my picture taken with them at the presentation but I never got a copy - the word from EMI was that they didn't turn out - I think it was at the band's request since it's now well known that they prefer to hide their faces from us humans.
While we've certainly had our share of fake new Daft Punk music in recent years - last night/ this morning a wee clip of the real thing aired during Saturday Night Live - a mere fifteen second spot with music and their logo (looking more sparkly than ever) and nothing more. Naturally the internet is abuzz today with anticipation.
Now what do we make of this clue - this tiny teaser? It's just fifteen seconds of funky guitar disco that could just have easily been recorded in 1977. Does this mean that they're going more disco and less electronic? Only time will tell - at least we can be sure that new Daft Punk music is on the way someday soon - which is certainly more to look forward to - and much better than just another false alarm!

SummersRadio™ New Remixes! Boys Noize - 'XTC' (Chemical Brothers Remix) (Extended Preview)/ Boys Noize - 'Ich R U' (Justice Remix)
Boys Noize are releasing a new remix EP to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Ed Banger Records featuring remixes from The Chemical Brothers and Justice! The remix EP will feature The Chemical Brothers taking on Boys Noize's track 'XTC' and Justice remix 'Ich R U'. The EP is also the label's 100th release and it's out on March 18th.
Ed Banger Records was founded in 2003 by Pedro Winter aka Busy P. They're based in Paris and their home to artists such as Justice, Cassius, Mr. Oizo, Uffie and Breakbot among others.
The Chemical Brothers posted a short snippet (less than a minute long) of their 'XTC' remix on their Facebook page last week as a preview which was just too short to be postworthy - but I've found an 'Extended Preview' recorded off of Annie Mac's Radio 1 show posted earlier today that's nearly four minutes long! Naturally I will post the full proper version as soon as it's available - until then... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Remix! Pan-Pot - 'Kepler' (Julian Jeweil Remix)
Pan-Pot have just released a new remix of their song 'Kepler'! The Berlin duo are remixed here by Marseille, France's Julian Jeweil on this one track single released on the Mobilee Records label. 'Kepler' first appeared as one of the b-sides on Pan-Pot's 'White Fiction' EP that was released in December.
