Brazil's Bruno Be has just released a new remix of Gorillaz' 'Feel Good Inc.' online! 'Feel Good Inc.' was first released as the lead single from their second album 'Demon Days' in 2005. It was reported in June that Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett plan to make a follow up to their 2011 album 'The Fall' - but not until a new Blur album was finished first - yay!

Elias Mariano aka the E.M.B. Project has just released new remixes of two classic 80's songs online this week! The Brazilian producer has just remixed Falco's 1981/82 hit 'Der Kommissar' (which translates as 'The Commissioner') and INXS's 1987 hit 'Need You Tonight' from their 'Kick' album.

1605 Music Therapy are off to a fiery hot start (it is going to be the year of the dragon afterall - although one of the artists name's here involves a monkey!) in 2012 with a brand new mini compilation called 'Platform Vol. 1'! (currently available exclusively on Beatport here: http://www.beatport.com/#release/sixteenofive-platform-vol-1/853544) It's actually the first release in a new series from the label - of samplers featuring all new tracks. Volume one features five new songs - which 1605 describes as '5 tracks of grade-A techno and tech house' - and I agree with them 100%!
Although all five tracks on 'Platform Vol. 1' are really good, I've chosen my two favorite songs to post - the first and last tracks on the compilation/ EP - but I shall begin with the last, and finish with the first. :) This is track five on the EP from Hellomonkey (aka Andrewboy aka Lucky Orgia) - an artist from Budapest Hungary - and this is his new song called 'Yes'. I like the rather minimal yet positive lyrics - especially with the awesome production around 3:15 in... Enjoy!

Mr. Oizo - 'Edn' (Vinibanger Remix) Well I must say that itunes is certainly getting their paws on some quality dance music releases lately <cough> In this week's new releases for example we have a new compilation called 'Acid House' - which features big name artists like Boyz4noize - and includes a 'Hard Trance Mix'! They also have a new song from Tfb called 'My Dick Has Bass' and Sissy Penis Factory's 'Everybody F**K Now' from 1991! If you haven't heard it, you can probably guess that it's a 20 year old explicit take on C&C Music Factory's 'Everybody Dance Now' - with clever lyrics like 'Let my pussy take control, let my juices move you'. I don't know where they're getting these top quality exclusive new releases from, but all I can say is buyer beware!
France's Mr. Oizo released his latest album called 'Stade 2' earlier this month - his second released on the Ed Banger label, and his fourth full length overall. The album features a one minute and four second track called 'Ebn' - short for... 'everybody dance now'! It's not a cover per se - although it uses those three memorable words, it's totally different musically speaking. As it's so short it's more of a musical interlude than a song, but Vinicius Miguel aka Vinibanger - a producer from Brazil - has remixed and extended the track, turning into a proper tune. Gui Boratto featuring Luciana Villanova - 'This Is Not The End'/ Gui Boratto - 'Flying Practice' Brazil's Gui Boratto has just released his new album - his third full length - appropriately titled 'III'! It features 12 tracks and is available on vinyl, cd and digitally on the German Kompakt label.
'This Is Not The End' is a standout track featuring the vocals of Luciana Villanova - who's also sang on his previous two albums - perhaps due in part that she's also Gui Boratto's wife! I'm not sure if she's from Brazil as well or not, but her voice is very indie/ North American sounding - which is to my liking :) If you're a fan of Gui's remix of Massive Attack's 'Paradise Circus' (featuring Hope Sandoval on vocals) I suspect that this song may be to your liking - it has a similar feel to it - although it's not quite as dark.
This is Gui Boratto featuring Luciana Villanova with the eleventh track on his new album 'III' called 'This Is Not The End' - I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this one released as a single someday soon... Enjoy!
Here's another standout track from Gui Boratto's new album 'III' (which is out now) called 'Flying Practice'- it's the fourth track on the album and it follows the official first single 'The Drill'. Nice - I've been describing my dj sets as 'rocktronica' for years!
MixHell have just released their new 4 track EP on Boysnoize Records called 'Antigalactic' today! It contains the original version, followed by a 'Mumbai Science Remix', the 'In Flagranti Special Forces Mix', and 'Gui Boratto's Out Of Bounds Mix'. This clip gives you between two and three minutes of each version - in the order posted.
The original mix is a nice bouncy electronic number and Mumbai Science add some nice trippy keyboard bits and a more techno feel (you can tell when the mix changes as they say 'exclusive` before each one), In Flagranti slow it down and make is spacier - and Gui Boratto goes for a more minimal effect. I like them all but I'm leaning towards the 'Mumbai Science Remix' as being my favorite so far... what do you think? Enjoy!

Tony Da Gatorra vs. Gruff Rhys - 'In A House With No Mirrors (You'll Never Get Old)' On July 26th in the U.K. Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals - and more recently Neon Neon - fame released another side project under the guise 'Tony Da Gatorra vs. Gruff Rhys' with a brilliantly titled album called 'The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness'. Apparently Tony Da Gatorra is a Brazilian tv & vcr repairman who has fashioned his own instrument in the form of a 'Gatorra' - a cross between a guitar and a drum machine - I'm not making this up! I first posted this (via the FB group) on it's day of release - which was coincidentally the day before my birthday... it rocks - and I found it comforting! :) Enjoy!

'Paradise Circus' was the first single and features the vocals of Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star fame - who has also released two albums with her newer band The Warm Inventions. She has lent her unique vocals to many other great artists as well including the Chemical Brothers, Death In Vegas, Jesus & Mary Chain, Air - and of course Massive Attack! This remix by Brazilian producer Gui Boratto was also released in February - he takes the song into dancier territory while also expanding on the spaciousness of the original... Enjoy!
