SummersRadio™ New Remix + Free Download! Eagles - 'Hotel California' (Modernphase Remix)
Modernphase has released a new remix of the Eagles classic 'Hotel California' online! The dj/ producer Modernphase aka Kali is from Badajoz, Spain. 'Hotel California' was originally released as a single from the Eagles album of the same name in the spring of 1977.
The 'Modernphase Remix' leaves the full original lyrics intact (I love the line 'Some dance to remember, some dance to forget') and substitutes swirling synths for guitars - and if it's to your liking the remix is available as a free download on Soundcloud here: https://soundcloud.com/modernphase/hotel-california-modernphase (or simply click on the download arrow below)

SummersRadio™ New Music! Stand Up Against Heart Crime - 'I Need No Sun'/ 'Birth' (Live At Razzmatazz Club)
I reckon I've found the perfect song to post for the first day of fall in Vancouver... Stand Up Against Heart Crime have just released a new EP for their latest single 'I Need No Sun'! The brilliantly named Stand Up Against Heart Crime are an indie dream pop/ electronic band from Barcelona, Spain. They've released one single called 'Lost In Time And Space' and a self titled EP last year - both are available on Bandcamp here: http://standupagainstheartcrime.bandcamp.com/
'I Need No Sun' is the first single from their forthcoming debut full length album (date tba). The new 'I Need No Sun' EP features four tracks - the original plus three remixes - and it's available now on itunes. The remixes aren't available to share just yet (although I do recommend the 'Rho Remix') so we'll feature the original today. The song has a nice laid back Tangerine Dream vibe to it musically and I like the minimal lyrics - particularly the line 'I need no sun, I have my own'.
Their sound seems to have matured/ evolved rapidly. The production on this new song seems light years ahead of last year's releases - which were well produced - but I'd call this one expertly produced! This appears to be a new instrumental song called 'Birth' - recorded live this spring - which might provide us with some more insight into what their debut album will sound like. This song spikes my anticipation level - dare I say - sky high AND I also hope that they come to Vancouver someday soon as I'd love to see them live as well! 'Birth' is a perfect example of indie rock and electronic music (and I do love both) melding together flawlessly... Enjoy!

France's Olivier Giacomotto has teamed up with Spainish duo Amo + Navas aka David Amo and Julio Navas for a new EP called 'Together'! The EP features two tracks - the original mixes of 'Get Together' and 'Dance All Night' - and is released on the Definitive Recordings label. It's the b-side 'Dance All Night' that is most to my liking here with it's fine bassline kicking in at the one minute mark - cowbell follows. Soon the chilled robots being to speak, and at 3:20 in the penguins start taking flight... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! DJ Chus & Pepo - 'Shopska Salata' (Manuel De La Mare Mish Mash) Spain's DJ Chus & Pepo have just released a new EP called 'Shopska Salata' on the 303lovers Label. It contains the original mix and three remixes - and this one by Manuel De La Mare blows the others away!
Emanuele Mieme aka Manuel De La Mare is a dj/producer from Italy who's also one of the founders of the 303lovers label. Now I understand why some labels will choose to post only edits of their tracks on Youtube (and other sites) - to keep scammers from turning them into mp3 files for free. However, it's too bad that those ruiners have ruined it for us honest people who just want other humans to hear the entire song to encourage them to purchase it.
So at most there's only a 3 minute 20 second version available to share - but I honestly think that if you like this remix that you'd realize it within that time frame. I was intrigued from the start - and then at the 30 second mark I was like 'Yes! Sold!' And the good news is that the full song is 7 minutes 49 seconds - this is the 'Manuel De La Mare Mish Mash' remix of 'Shopska Salata'... Enjoy! *update - the full version is now posted*

SummersRadio™ New(ish) Remix! Wally Lopez & Richard Dinsdale - 'Shamba' (Luigi Rocca Remix) Surrey's Richard Dinsdale (that's Surrey U.K. - not the Vancouver suburb!) and Madrid's Wally Lopez initally released their new single 'Shamba' at the end of March. It was released on Italy's 303lovers label and featured the 'Original Mix' and the 'Sideburn & Redondo Remix'. About a month and a half later they released the 'Luigi Rocca Remix' - which I instantly fell in love with! The original mixes have a distinct world music/ house vibe - which is just fine - but I loved how Rocca transformed it by adding a massive rolling bassline and a number of trippy keyboard bits.
HOWEVER there was only a 2 minute sample available on Soundcloud, so I thought I'd wait until someone posted the full version somewhere. So I waited. And I waited. And waited. But I can wait no more! While there's still no full version posted anywhere (legal of course) 303lovers has recently posted a longer edit on youtube - just a titch over 3 minutes long - this shall have to suffice. It's a great remix you see, so you must hear it - and it would sound awesome as part of the soundtrack to anyone's summer of 2011! The full remix is 6:38, and if it's to your liking it's available exclusively on Beatport. This the 'Luigi Rocca Remix' of 'Shamba'... Enjoy!

It contains 37 tracks including this one from Madrid's Cristian Varela - with a techno/ disco hybrid that borrows bits of the 1978 disco classic 'Let's All Chant' by the Michael Zager Band. Maetrik - 'Push Me' (Popof Remix) Eric Estornel aka Maetrik (not be be confused with the awesome band Metric - or Alex Metric for that matter!) is an artist/ dj/ producer originally from the U.S. that now resides in Valencia Spain. He's just released a new 3 track EP on the Cocoon Recordings label called 'Crush On Me' this week! It contains the original mix of the title track, the original mix of 'Push Me' and this remix from Paris's Popof. I really like this remix - it has a nice swagger to it - and apparently he wants you to push him... so do it! Enjoy!
