Nancy Whang and Audiojack have just released a new EP called 'Like An Eagle'! 'Like An Eagle' is a cover of Dennis Parker's title track from his 1979 album released on Casablanca Records.
This EP is the first of four that will feature the former LCD Soundsystem's vocalist/ keyboardist covering classic 70's tracks. The first EP features three tracks (the original plus two remixes) and it's released on Gomma Records. Yesterday Bowie released his first new single in ten years - and today we have a new Pulp song that took over ten years to record! 'After You' began it's life as an unfinished Pulp demo from 2000 that was never actually recorded. After spending most of last year touring the world the reunited Sheffield band finally decided to record the song - and they received some production help from James Murphy while they were both on the SS Coachella last month.
It's unclear how much of a role the former LCD Soundsystem frontman held in the recording of the single, but while it's distinctly Pulp it also has an atmospheric semi-disco DFA vibe to it - along with some fine upfront guitar work. 'After You' soundtracks a fun night out - with Jarvis chasing after (or stalking?) someone he clearly fancies... Enjoy!

This is TBC Poundsystem's festive take on LCD Soundsystem's 2002 opus 'Losing My Edge' - created by two gentlemen from London - Tim from Mutantpop and Jeb 50PoundNote.
This is a new 2012 remastered version of the song parody they first recorded in 2005. It's backed by a mashup up of several songs besides LCD's tune including Michael Jackson's 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough' and 'Funkytown' from Lipps Inc.

Paperclip People (aka techno legend Carl Craig) have just released a new remix of their club classic 'Throw'! 'Throw' was first released in 1994 in the U.K. on the Open label - with the original version of the song clocking in at over 14 minutes long! You may also know LCD Soundsystem's cover version of it - which was released as a 12" single in 2010 - and included as a bonus track on their 'This Is Happening' album on itunes.
Slam are respectful of the original but punch it up just enough - it's starts out quite similar but you'll feel it kick in deeper around 1:05 in. This is the new 'Slam's RTM Remix' of 'Throw'... Enjoy!

LCD Soundsystem's new film 'Shut Up And Play The Hits' premieres at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah tonight at midnight! The film is a documentary that follows LCD's frontman James Murphy over a 48 hour period - on the day of their final concert performance at Madison Square Garden on April 2nd 2011 - and the day after, including 'the personal and professional ramifications' of his decision to disband the group.

Junior Boys - 'A Truly Happy Ending' (Keljet Remix) Hamilton's 'indie-tronica duo' Junior Boys released their fourth studio album called 'It's All True' earlier this week. It contains nine tracks including the first single 'Banana Ripple' and the original version of this song 'A Truly Happy Ending'.
Keljet are also a duo from Nijmegen Netherlands - that have remixed artists such as Passion Pit, The xx, Scissor Sisters, Faithless and Two Door Cinema Club.
