SummersRadio™ New Music! Peter Horrevorts - 'Fire In The Disco' The Netherlands Peter Horrevorts has released a new EP on Germany's Kanzleramt label called 'Fire In The Disco'! It features two tracks - 'Fire In The Disco' and 'Smoke In The Club'.
'Fire In The Disco' mixes an array of genres together - it's mostly tech house but with sprinkles of reggae and ska, techno, and disco - with some great production - featuring plenty of keyboard effects... Enjoy!
Bonus Track! Well I could hardly post a song called 'Fire In The Disco' without thinking of Electric Six's classic 'Danger! High Voltage'! Electric Six just released their eighth studio album called 'Heartbeats And Brainwaves' earlier this month on Metropolis Records, but they achieved their first major success with this song in 2003 - fueled in part by the fact that it featured the White Stripes Jack White on backing vocals (under the psuedonym John S O'Leary) - as both bands were part of the Detroit garage rock scene.

SummersRadio™ New Remixes! Jaydee - 'Plastic Dreams (2011 Remixes)' (Dino Lenny & Amnesia Remix/ Koen Groeneveld Remix) 'Plastic Dreams' is one of those songs like New Order's 'Blue Monday' - it never really leaves clubland. This classic, first released on R&S Records in 1992 is still played in clubs - and every few years someone does a new remix. It will always be around dancefloors and parties because it's just that good! And here's some good news for fans of the song - the Dutch label Spinnin Records has just released the '2011 Remixes' EP containing seven brand new house and techno remixes!
I'm not going to post all seven - just two standouts! First up is this remix from Italy's Dino Anthony Lanni aka Dino Lenny and Roberto Longiaru aka Jose Amnesia - who's version is fairly faithful to the original - but different enough to be interesting. That is until a thunderstorm breaks out midway through the song (complete with the obligatory car alarm - that's how they always unfold here in Vancouver!) carrying it into another dimension! This mix will sound great in a packed club - and perhaps even better at an outdoor party - on a clear night - just to mess with people's heads! :)

Junior Boys - 'A Truly Happy Ending' (Keljet Remix) Hamilton's 'indie-tronica duo' Junior Boys released their fourth studio album called 'It's All True' earlier this week. It contains nine tracks including the first single 'Banana Ripple' and the original version of this song 'A Truly Happy Ending'.
Keljet are also a duo from Nijmegen Netherlands - that have remixed artists such as Passion Pit, The xx, Scissor Sisters, Faithless and Two Door Cinema Club. Fedde Le Grand - 'Metrum' (Original Club Mix) Fedde Le Grand is a Dutch dj/ producer from Utrecht Netherlands who is best known for his 2006 electro/ house worldwide smash 'Put Your Hand Up For Detroit'. He's just released a brand new single this week called 'Metrum' on the Toolroom Records label, which leans more towards a techno sound with some amazing production. He's 23 years old and he debuted at number 19 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's of 2010 poll - the highest new entry on the list - which is based on public voting. He also just reached 250,000 fans on Facebook and to celebrate this he's released this new song called 'Pop On Acid' this week!
Technically it's a rework of his track 'Pacha On Acid' - but whether you call it a rework, a remix, or new - it's one great tune! SummersRadio™ New Remix! Daft Punk - 'Tron Legacy (End Titles)' (Sander Kleinenberg Remix) Well here's something that you don't hear of everyday - a soundtrack remix album! Walt Disney Records have announced that they're releasing a collection of remixes of selected tracks from 'Tron Legacy' called 'Tron Legacy R3CONF1GUR3D'! It will contain 15 tracks and it's released on April 5th.
This makes perfect sense because I'm sure that more than one or two Daft Punk fans were a bit disappointed that the original soundtrack didn't have much in the way of clubby tunes - and those that were close were too short - but then as we all know it was written to fit the film. So considering Daft Punk's huge fanbase - which I suspect has widened even further with this soundtrack - I wouldn't be surprised to see this remix album become a top 10 hit as well.
