Wolfram has released a new remix EP called 'Can't Remember'/ 'Talking To You' (Remixes)! Wolfram (formerly known as Diskokaine) is a musician/ producer from Vienna. The original mixes of these two tracks first came out in May - the new three track remix EP (both are released on DFA Records) is also available now on iTunes.
This new remix of 'Can't Remember' by Jacques Renault and Mark Verbos features some amazing production including a nice foray into some acid techno... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Shit Robot Featuring Reggie Watts - 'The Secret'

The download is available now on iTunes and it's also available on cd and vinyl here: http://store.dfarecords.com/products/dfa2396
'The Secret' is the first track on 'We Got A Love' so it will be the first track below - they've actually posted the entire album on Soundcloud so you can listen to the whole thing if you wish. 'The Secret' has a nice Giorgio Moroder/ disco vibe to it and it features some amusing vocal samples... Enjoy!
Holy Ghost! have just released a new single called 'Okay' online today! 'Okay' is taken from the duo's forthcoming second album called 'Dynamics' which is released September 10th on DFA Records.
'Okay' is a breezy synth pop tune about a relationship that seems to be less than okay... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! YACHT - 'Party At The NSA'
YACHT have just released a new song called 'Party At The NSA' online today! The NSA is the U.S. National Security Agency who've been monitoring phone conversations and other sources of data since 1952. Yes, this is American agency, but you can bet that this has been happening in Canada, the U.K. and elsewhere in the world for decades as well.
YACHT have written the song to help raise money for the Electronic Frontier Association'who will defend us all from living in a total surveillance state' (and) 'to help fight unwarranted (and illegal) NSA surveillance'.'Party At The NSA' is released on DFA Records and if the song is to your liking you can donate any amount you wish to receive a copy of it by clicking on the 'donate to download' arrow below.
Here are the song lyrics:
L Y R I C S :
Did you read my mail again? How do you find the time? I lost my signal yesterday, But it was never mine.
We don't need no privacy. What do you want that for? Don't you think it'll spoil our fun If you let that whistle blow?
P-P-P-Party at the NSA, Twenty, twenty, twenty-four hours a day!
There is a rainbow at the end of every P-R-I-S-M.
Be careful where you look today, Careful what you share. We're gonna make history. But it won't know we're there.
The world looks stranger when you look Through electronic eyes. There's a place in the Beehive State Where the network goes to die.
P-P-P-Party at the NSA, Twenty, twenty, twenty-four hours a day!
'Party At The NSA' is an original recording - but there are a few nods to some punk/ new wave classics including Elvis Costello's 'Pump It Up' and The Ramones 'I Wanna Be Sedated'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Holy Ghost! - 'Teenagers In Heat'
New York City duo Holy Ghost! have just released their new single 'Teenagers In Heat' online today! 'Teenagers In Heat' is a brand new single although apparently it will not feature on their forthcoming new album called 'Dynamics' - which is released September 10th on DFA Records. This is the album cover art by Robert Longo:
'Teenagers In Heat' was co-produced by label boss James Murphy and it sounds like the band have travelled back in time to 1981 as the rather chipper tune would sit well aside songs from New Order, Men Without Hats and Rational Youth.
If you miss out on the free download the two track single (the original plus an instrumental) will be available on iTunes (Canada) on July 16th. The song was just posted on YouTube - it has a mere 11 views so far - I reckon that will change pretty quick... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music/ Cover! YACHT - 'I'll Be Your Mirror'
YACHT have released a cover of the Velvet Underground & Nico classic 'I'll Be Your Mirror'! The band just posted this 'new beat' cover on Soundcloud yesterday - but it was actually released as the b-side song on their new six track EP for their latest single (also a cover) 'Le Goudron' - which is released on DFA Records, and is available on itunes.
This a respectful electronic cover featuring minimal synths and lovely harmonies that echo the beauty of Nico's original performance... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Shit Robot - 'Space Race'
Dublin's Marcus Lambkin aka Shit Robot is releasing a new single on Monday! The 'Teenage Bass'/ 'Space Race' EP is released on DFA Records and will be available as a download and also on a limited 'hand finished' 12" vinyl single from DFA's webstore here: http://shop.dfarecords.com/
'Teenage Bass'/ 'Space Race' is the first release in a new series of 12"'s from DFA called 'The Green Machine' although there's no further information available on exactly what that entails just yet. This is also his first single since the release of his 2010 debut album 'From The Cradle To The Rave'.
This is the b-side track - a largely instrumental and aptly named synth tune. (click to listen below) Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Holy Ghost! featuring Nancy Whang and Juan MacLean - 'I Wanted To Tell Her' Holy Ghost have just released their latest single - a cover of Ministry's 'I Wanted To Tell Her'! The song features special guests and DFA Records label mates Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem and Juan MacLean - although the song is available from Green Label Sound - the record label formed by Mountain Dew!
'I Wanted To Tell Her' was one of three singles released from Ministry's often forgotten new wave/ synthpop debut album called 'With Sympathy' which was released in 1983 - before singer Al Jourgensen quickly moved on to a more industrial, and later hardcore sound. This cover by Holy Ghost! is quite faithful to the original (although shorter in length) - they even mimic the original 'With Sympathy' cover art! If this version is to your liking you can download it for free from the Green Label Sound website here: http://www.greenlabelsound.com/artists/holyghost/
I love Nancy Whang's vocals, so her voice is a welcome addition here... Enjoy!
Bonus Track! Ministry - 'Work For Love' 'Work For Love' was another single from Ministry's 'With Sympathy' album - and about 180 degrees away from their later sound of singles such as 'Jesus Built My Hotrod'. After a being on hiatus for a couple years Ministry recently reformed for some live shows this summer - and they plan to tour in the new year in support of a new album called 'Relapse' which is expected to be released in the spring. You can bet that they won't be doing this one live - but it's still a great song - I like the female backing vocals - and it's even got a cowbell in it... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! YACHT - 'Tripped And Fell In Love' YACHT began in 2002 as the solo project of Portland Oregon's Jona Bechtolt. He released three albums between 2002 and 2008 - when the project officially became a duo with the addition of long time collaborator Claire L. Evans.
YACHT released their first album as a duo in 2009 called 'See Mystery Lights' on DFA Records - and they've just released their second album today! It's called 'Shangri-La' and it's also out on the DFA label. It contains ten tracks including the first single 'Dystopia (The Earth Is On Fire)' and the new single 'Utopia'. The wonderfully titled 'Tripped And Fell In Love' is the ninth track on the album and would certainly be a wise choice for single number three... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Video + New Remix! Shit Robot - 'Losing My Patience' While James Murphy may have put an end to LCD Soundsystem (posted below) he still has his label DFA Records - which Shit Robot are signed to. Marcus Lambkin aka Shit Robot released his debut album called 'From The Cradle To The Rave' last September - and 'Losing My Patience' is the third and latest single from the album, following 'I Got A Feeling' and 'Take Me Up' - which featured LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang on vocals. 'Losing My Patience' features vocals from Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip! First up we have the new video... Enjoy!
And since the song features Alexis Taylor on vocals, I suppose it wasn't too difficult to get Hot Chip to do a remix of the song as well... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Holy Ghost! - 'Wait & See' (Flight Facilities Remix) Brooklyn duo Holy Ghost! have just released their self titled debut album on DFA Records online this week! The physical release is Monday the 11th in the U.K. (cd and vinyl) and the 26th in North America - but it's out on itunes this week with 2 bonus remixes - one of 'Say My Name' - and this remix of 'Wait & See' by Flight Facilites. I like the disco-y baseline... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Holy Ghost! - 'Do It Again' Holy Ghost! are a duo from Brooklyn NY and they are set to release their self titled debut album on April 5th! They are signed to DFA Records - and like a few other artists on the label - perhaps not surprisingly, sound a bit like LCD Soundsystem. In fact they opened for LCD Soundsystem on their 'This Is Happening' Tour last year. This is their new single called 'Do It Again' which you can download for free courtesy of the band here: http://www.holyghostnyc.com/doitagain/signup.html Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Discodeine Featuring Jarvis Cocker - 'Synchronize' (Extended Vocal Remix) France's duo Discodeine have enlisted the talents of the one and only Jarvis Cocker (of Pulp fame) on their new single released on DFA Records... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! + New Video! Shit Robot - 'Take 'Em Up' Shit Robot is Markus Lambkin - an Irish musician and dj. He released his cleverly titled debut album 'From The Cradle To The Rave' in September on DFA Records. Vocals on this track are performed by Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem - and it features lyrics co-written with her and James Murphy! I wish Nancy sang more on LCD albums - but for now this is one great tune - a bit like the Human League at their best meets LCD... Enjoy!
