The original album version was produced by Soulwax and this EP features 2 new remixes from Detroit techno legend Carl Craig. The original clocked in at a mere 10 minutes long so it's now been extended to over 12 and 13 minutes! There's also an instrumental version available - in case you haven't noticed itunes is a bit weird when it comes to songs over 8 minutes long - most often making them available as full album only purchases. Such is the case here - but it's quite a deal - as the 3 tracks combined are over 36 minutes long and the 'album' price for all three songs is only $1.99! This version is known as the 'C2 Remix 2'... SummersRadio™ Classic! The xx - 'Crystalised' (Rory Phillips Remix) Like The xx, Rory Phillips is a Londoner - and this remix came out last year. While The xx have their appeal I still found them a bit lethargic overall initially - but I credit this particular remix by Rory Phillips (followed by many others of course) for making me see them in a different light! As this came out in 2009 it won't be tagged as part of the Best Of 2010 - but it is a modern classic - and if you missed it the first time around I also highly recommend checking out the Slyde remix of this song posted on Nov. 15th - Enjoy!

Saint Etienne - 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart' (Richard X Extended Remix) Rare is it that a cover version of a classic song done in a completely different style becomes a classic in it's own right - but such was the case in 1991 when Saint Etienne remodeled Neil Young's 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart'. This remix from 2009 by Richard X is AMAZING - kudos to Blake B. Siik for bringing this one back to the surface! Richard X actually remixed the entire 'Foxbase Alpha' album (their debut) - and it was released as 'Foxbase Beta' last November - as a limited single disc available only through Rough Trade in the U.K., and as a limited 2cd version through their 'Lovers Unite' fanclub...
