SummersRadio™ New Music! The Presets - 'No Fun'

The Presets have released a new single called 'No Fun'! 'No Fun' follows January's 'Goodbye Future' as the second new single from the Australian duo this year - there's still no word on a new full length album yet however. 'No Fun' is available now on iTunes.

There will also be a remix package forthcoming on August 5th that will include remixes from Lancelot, RÜFÜS, Wax Wings, Eekkoo and Phil Keiran.

Despite it's title 'No Fun' is actually is a pretty fun song - with plenty of oldschool keyboard sounds. The only part not to my liking is the 'music makes me wanna' backing vocal effects - but hopefully they'll be left out of one of the remixes... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! PVT - 'Ziggurat'

PVT (formerly Pivot) are a trio who spend their time between Sydney and London that have recently released their fourth album called 'Homosapien'! Their sound is an interesting mix of rock, electronic and experimental music that sounds at times like a cross between (more recent) Radiohead and MGMT. 'Ziggurat' is the last track on 'Homosapien' (not counting bonus tracks) - a dreamy instrumental tune that will quickly transport you to a happier place.

SummersRadio™ New Music! Flume featuring Moon Holiday - 'Insane'

Flume has just released his self titled debut album! Here we go with our third Australian electronic artist in a row (and no this wasn't pre-planned) from Perth to Melbourne to Sydney - where we find Harley Streten aka Flume. His full length debut features fifteen tracks - it's released on the Future Classic label and it's available now on itunes worldwide.

Flume mixes elements of both hip hop and electronic music and it's his ace production that really makes this album stand out. 'Insane' is my favourite song on 'Flume' thus far - the sixth track which features the vocals of another Sydney artist signed to the Future Classic label - Alexandra Ward aka Moon Holiday.

I like the clean layered synth sounds - the almost 'Time To Pretend' shuffle - Moon Holiday's vocals - and the lyrics on this one. This is a great song to space out and think your mad thoughts to... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music Preview! The Presets - 'Youth In Trouble' (previews parts 1 & 2)/ 'My People'

The Presets have just announced details of their new album! The Australian duo are set to release their third album called 'Pacifica' on Modular Recordings on September 14th. The release date has seen some delays and it's been a long four year wait for fans since 2008's excellent 'Apocalypso'. Here's the cover artwork for 'Pacifica':

The Presets are touring this fall as part of Australia's annual Parklife Music Festival which travels to Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide between September 29th and October 7th.

SummersRadio™ New Music/ Remix! The Ting Tings/ Bag Raiders!

SummersRadio™ New Music/ Remix! The Ting Tings - 'Silence' (Bag Raiders Remix) If someone asked me this morning what the odds were of me posting the new Ting Ting's single today, I would have responded with something like 'I don't forsee that happening' - as I haven't exactly been a fan of the band. They're a bit too top 40 sounding for my liking - it's like they're trying far too hard to be super hooky but they just come off as too repetitive instead. I haven't been a fan of singer Katie White's shouty talk/ rap vocal style either - no offence if you're a fan of course.

However, I am a fan of Sydney's Bag Raiders so I had to check out this new remix and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised - very surprised. Naturally the Bag Raiders production is top notch as usual - but also Katie White actually sings on this track - and her voice is really quite lovely when she's not trying to sound like a bratty teenager!

'Silence' looks set to be the second single (following 'Hands' which was released in October) from The Ting Ting's forthcoming as yet untitled second album, which is slated for release in January. So is this a sign of a more mature sound for the band? Time will tell. For now here's the excellent uplifting 'Bag Raiders Remix' of 'Silence'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Australia - 'Sydney on Acid' Montreal's Tiga just launched his new sub-label called Twin Turbo last month! Tiga founded the Turbo Recordings label back in 1998, and on August 23rd he officially started the digital only Twin Turbo label. This is the second release on the label - an EP from Australia called 'Sydney On Acid'!

Australia consists of two members of Sydney's 'techno party' Motorik! - in collaboration with another one of 'Sydney's finest production teams' who thus far are keeping their identity top secret. This is the title track from their new EP 'Sydney On Acid' - a rather tasty acid techno sandwich... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Remixes! Radiohead!

SummersRadio™ New Remixes! Radiohead - 'Bloom' (Mark Pritchard Remix)/ (Harmonic 313 Remix)/ 'Morning Mr. Magpie' (Nathan Fake Remix) Radiohead released the latest in a series of 12" singles featuring all new remixes this weekend! This is the second 12"release in the series of vinyl only (thus far) remixes of tracks from their 'King Of Limbs' album. This one features two remixes of the song 'Bloom' and one of 'Morning Mr. Magpie'.

The band have also announced that all of the remixes will be made available on one cd -AFTER they've all been released digitally and on vinyl! So for your listening pleasure I present all three new remixes of Radiohead's most recent forays into experimental electronic music - first up is the 'Bloom' remix from Sydney's Mark Pritchard... Enjoy!



And this is Harmonic 313's remix of 'Bloom'. Like Mark Pritchard - Harmonic 313 also hails from Sydney - which is no coincidence, as it's actually an alais of his! While remixed by the same human, this version is much more cinematic... Enjoy!



And this is Nathan Fake's remix of 'Morning Mr. Magpie'. Unlike Harmonic 313, Norfolk's Nathan Fake uses his 'real' name... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ Classic! Bass Kleph - 'Keyboard Cat' Stuart Tyson - better known as Bass Kleph - is an Australian dj and producer based in Sydney. He started his music career in the 90's as the drummer for the rock band Loki before his obsession with dj'ing began. In 2007 he founded Vacation Records and then in 2009 the Exit Row label. 'Keyboard Cat' (named after the youtube sensation) was released in the summer of 2009 and became his first original song to hit the top 20 on Beatport... Enjoy!

In the meantime we can bask in the glow of greatness that is 'Anywhere' from their 'Apocalypso' release. I love the weight of the line 'So let yourself down tonight...
