The Orb have posted new music online today from their forthcoming new album (their 13th) called 'Moonbuilding 2703 AD'! The band have posted the title track - the 'Meltdown Edit' - which features portions of each of the seven songs on the album.

This 'Meltdown Edit' of 'Moonbuilding 2703 AD' is a nice taster of what we can expect from the new album - it certainly has great potential. I'm not a fan of the crackling bit though - I've never been a fan of crackling on recordings - real or fake! However I do find the opening sample quite amusing... Enjoy!

France's Sebastien Bouchet has released a new EP called 'Speicher 77'! 'Speicher 77' is the latest release in the 'Speicher' series - which began in 2001 on the Kompakt label as a means of tying up some loose ends.

                   

I love how Kompakt describes Bouchet's sound: "it's still the same undercurrent of deranged minimalism running alongside a perfectly executed club framework and counterbalancing the occasional epic outburst."

'Broken Heart' is the b-side on Bouchet's new EP - and it's a very cinematic and emotional track that tells the torrid story without words... Enjoy!

'Mantasy''s sounds are very diverse - Mayer says that the album "clearly reflects the gazillions of sounds I'm listening to in private, especially my love for soundtracks or soundtrack-like music". The album's title track is my initial favourite - it certainly has a cinematic feel to it - and a Giorgio Moroder disco influence, but a bit darker... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Saschienne - 'Unknown' (Original Mix)/ 'Knopfauge' (Original Mix)

Saschienne are a duo from Berlin consisting of Sascha Funke and Julienne Dessagne. They released their debut album called 'Unknown' in March on the Kompakt label, and they've just released the title track as the first official single. The two track EP features the 'Original Mix' as well as the 'Dixon Mix'.

The title 'Unknown' doesn't mean that the song is without a name - but instead refers to the unknown itself - as the Julienne sings "This Unknown... keeps us together, brings us closer." The duo - who are also married - remind me a bit of Everything But The Girl - if they were perhaps based in Germany instead of England - as their album is an ecelectic mix of electronica and deep house. Julienne's vocals are also reminicent of Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval on some of her electronic collaborations.

SummersRadio™ New Music! Coma - 'Gravity'/ 'Fiction' Coma are a duo from Cologne Germany consisting of Georg Conrad & Marius Bubat - and they've just released their latest EP called 'Gravity' this week! Coma describe their sound as 'new rave & oldschool techno, 80s pop and 2k-modernity in a deep hug'. The 'Gravity' EP features three great tracks and is released on the Kompakt label.

This is the title track and first song on the EP - a superbly produced hypnotic techno tune with a hint of disco - and a trippy video... Enjoy!



This is the third track on the EP called 'Fiction'. The song has a wintery feel to it - the first couple minutes are pretty chill - reminicent of Air (if they were from Germany) and then it picks up the pace with the sleekness of a Pet Shop Boys tune (if they were from France) :) Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! The Field! Sweden's Axel Willner aka The Field has just released his new album called 'Looping State Of Mind'! Like yesterday's post from Gui Borotto - The Field's newest album is released on Germany's Kompakt label - and in both cases it's the artists third full length album. 'Looping State Of Mind' is available digitally now, and it will also be released on cd and vinyl on October 24th (Europe)/ 25th (North America).

'Looping State Of Mind' contains just seven tracks - but each one is between seven and eleven minutes long! The tough part has been deciding which ones to post, as it's a very solid album - and as the title suggests it's also quite hypnotic. I shall begin with what is my favorite track on it so far - 'Then It's White' - the sixth song on the album - and also the spaciest :) ...Enjoy!



Axel Willner also records under the monikers Lars Blek, James Larsson, Porte, and Cordouan! Here's another new track from The Field's excellent new album 'Looping State Of Mind' - this is the second song on the album called 'It's Up There'... Enjoy!



I like The Field's new third album 'Looping State Of Mind' so much that I'm going to feature a third song from it! SummersRadio™ New Music! Gus Gus - 'Over' Iceland's Gus Gus have just released their new album called 'Arabian Horse'! It's the eighth studio album from the Reykjavik collective which currently consists of four core members. Gus Gus have been releasing quality music (and video's) since they formed in 1995 - so in celebration of the new album I thought I'd post a few classics as well. 'David' was one of the singles from their 2002 album (their fifth) called 'Attention' which was released on the Underwater Records label - which was formed by Darren Emmerson after leaving Underworld in 2000. 'I still have last night in my body' is a great line - that feeling after a night out when you're still buzzed - wishing the good times could go on! This is 'Darren Emmerson's Underwater Remix' of 'David'... Enjoy!



Gus Gus released their third album called 'This Is Normal' in 1999 on the 4A.D. Records label. 'Starlovers' features an excellently creepy video - singer Stephan Stephensen portrays a cult leader - I suppose being in a cult wouldn't be all bad if you got to eat cake and dance to cool music like this - Enjoy!



Gus Gus released their first self titled album independently in 1995 and then in 1997 they were signed to 4A.D. and released 'Polydistortion' which contained four of the same songs from the independent release, as well as seven new tracks - plus a four track bonus EP of remixes. This is another one of their great videos - this is 'Polyesterday' - who's remix was called 'Polydistortion' - and this video was dubbed 'Polymovie'... Enjoy!

It's called 'Every Minute Alone' and it's available as a two track 12", and as a three song download on Italy's Life And Death label - hence the EP is actually called the 'Dead Remixes'. It features remixes of 'Every Minute Alone' by Tale Of Us and Michael Mayer (vinyl and download) and a third one from both Tale Of Us and Seth Troxler (download only - available exlusively on Beatport).

The single 'Every Minute Alone' is from WhoMadeWho's forthcoming mini album called 'Knee Deep'- which is released on the Kompakt label on April 25th.
