Glasgow's Harvey McKay has just released a new EP called 'Pressure' this week! The EP features two tracks - the original mixes of the title track - and a tune called 'Findo Gask'. It's released on the German label Trapez and it's available now on itunes. SummersRadio™ New Music! Ramon Tapia - 'The Cry' (Original Mix)/ (Secret Cinema Remix)
Belgium's Ramon Tapia has just released a new EP today called 'The Cry'! There's certainly been no shortage of early 80's revivials recently - just in the past two weeks we've had Comon's cover of Trio's 'Da Da Da' (82), Mr. Bizz's remix of Yello's 'Oh Yeah' (85) - and 'The Cry' samples the haunting xylophone hook from Tears For Fears 1983 single 'Change' from their classic debut album 'The Hurting'.
'The Cry' EP features three versions of the track - the 'Original Mix', the 'Deep Mix', and the 'Secret Cinema Remix'. It's released on the Say What? Recordings label and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/#release/the-cry-ep/921791
All three versions of 'The Cry' are quite different but equally strong in their own right. I shall feature two of them - first up we have the 'Original Mix'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Hot Chip - 'Don't Deny Your Heart'
Hot Chip release their new album called 'In Our Heads' tomorrow! 'In Our Heads' is the London band's fifth studio album - it features eleven tracks and is released on the Domino label. We featured the first track to surface from the album in March called 'Flutes' http://summersradio.blogspot.ca/2012/03/summersradio-new-music-hot-chip.html.
The first official single from the album is 'Night & Day' but this weekend a couple other new tracks have popped up online. 'Don't Deny Your Heart' is the fifth track on 'In Our Heads' - I like the coupling of the lines 'Don't deny your heart, don't destroy your heart' - of course the two aren't necessarily exclusive. The song has a nice summery vibe to it and I dig the opening vocal samples... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Remix + Rare Remix! Yello - 'Oh Yeah' (Mr. Bizz Remix)/ 'I Love You' (Extended Version)
Mr. Bizz have released a new remix of Yello's classic single 'Oh Yeah'! Switzerland's Yello first released 'Oh Yeah' as a single from their fourth album 'Stella' in 1985. However the song reached the masses the following year when it was used prominently in the classic John Hughes comedy 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'. It was re-released in 1987 with the addition of a few more lyrics and it was also featured in another popular film called 'The Secret Of My Success' - and it's been used in countless films and television commericals since.
Italian duo Mr. Bizz have just released a remix on Tiger Records and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/#release/oh-yeah-2012-remix/919997
Mr. Bizz use the vocal bits (from the 1987 recording) over a driving hypnotic house groove... Enjoy!
Bonus Track! Yello released quite a string of great electronic/ synthpop singles in the 80's - and 'I Love You' is one of my favourites. This is the original 'Extended Version' from the 12" single - released in 1983 from their third album 'You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess'. This version is about two minutes longer than the 'Club Mix' of the song that's currently available on the remastered cd and download... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Giraffage - 'Feels'/ 'A Bird In Hand'
Giraffage has just released a new song online called 'Feels'! Charlie Yin aka Giraffage is 'just a dude making music' (as he says on his Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/giraffage) from San Francisco. He released his debut full length online in November of last year called 'Comfort' - which is available on Bandcamp here: http://giraffage.bandcamp.com/album/comfort.
'Feels' is a new song set to be included on a new as yet untitled EP that Giraffage hopes to release in August - and like his other recordings it's a dreamy soothing tune featuring lush layered production. SummersRadio™ New Music! Computer Magic - 'Everest' (Demo)
Computer Magic have just posted a new song online called 'Everest'! We've featured Brooklyn's Danz aka Computer Magic several times over the past year - she has a beautiful voice, interesting lyrics, and the production on her music is sublime. This is actually just a demo but it sounds like it could easily be the finished product - it has a nice warm quality to it.
So far Computer Magic have released four EP's - the most recent is 'Orion' which is available on itunes. The three previous EP's: 'Hiding From Our Time', 'Hiding From More Of Our Time' (or 'Hiding II'), and 'Spectronic' are all available as free downloads from the band's official website here: http://thecomputermagic.com/

SummersRadio™ New Music! Saschienne!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Saschienne - 'Unknown' (Original Mix)/ 'Knopfauge' (Original Mix)
Saschienne are a duo from Berlin consisting of Sascha Funke and Julienne Dessagne. They released their debut album called 'Unknown' in March on the Kompakt label, and they've just released the title track as the first official single. The two track EP features the 'Original Mix' as well as the 'Dixon Mix'.
The title 'Unknown' doesn't mean that the song is without a name - but instead refers to the unknown itself - as the Julienne sings "This Unknown... keeps us together, brings us closer." The duo - who are also married - remind me a bit of Everything But The Girl - if they were perhaps based in Germany instead of England - as their album is an ecelectic mix of electronica and deep house. Julienne's vocals are also reminicent of Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval on some of her electronic collaborations.
