SummersRadio™ New Music! Ramon Tapia!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Ramon Tapia - 'The Cry' (Original Mix)/ (Secret Cinema Remix)

Belgium's Ramon Tapia has just released a new EP today called 'The Cry'! There's certainly been no shortage of early 80's revivials recently - just in the past two weeks we've had Comon's cover of Trio's 'Da Da Da' (82), Mr. Bizz's remix of Yello's 'Oh Yeah' (85) - and 'The Cry' samples the haunting xylophone hook from Tears For Fears 1983 single 'Change' from their classic debut album 'The Hurting'.

'The Cry' EP features three versions of the track - the 'Original Mix', the 'Deep Mix', and the 'Secret Cinema Remix'. It's released on the Say What? Recordings label and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/#release/the-cry-ep/921791

All three versions of 'The Cry' are quite different but equally strong in their own right. I shall feature two of them - first up we have the 'Original Mix'... Enjoy!

This remix is from The Netherlands's Jeroen Verheij aka Secret Cinema - who takes the track in a more techno direction... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Spektre & Matt Cooper!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Spektre & Matt Cooper - 'The Chemist' (Sasha Carassi Remix)/ (Secret Cinema Smoky Remix) U.K. duo Spektre have collaborated with dj/ producer Matt Cooper for their latest single which is out now! Both artists are from Leeds and they previously released an EP together in 2009 on the Respekt Recordings label called 'Cuernos Cubanos'. Their new EP is called 'The Chemist' and is released on the Phobiq label.

'The Chemist' EP features three versions of the title track - the challenging part has been deciding which mix to post - all three are quite different and top quality techno tunes in their own right. I couldn't settle on just one - so I'll go with the two remixes - although the 'Original Mix' is good too (I like the vocal samples in it)!

First up we have the remix from Italy's Sasha Carassi - who is also Phobiq's label boss. His remix of 'The Chemist' has a nice gallop to it (it hits a nice stride just one minute in) suitable for either some fast paced horseback riding - or for perhaps playing in a movie during a rad horse chase scene... or for dancing :) Enjoy!

Jeroen Verheij aka Secret Cinema is a veteran techno dj/producer from Rotterdam - and this is his rather hypnotic 'Secret Cinema Smoky Remix' of 'The Chemist'. This version is perhaps more suitable for flying through the clouds on said horse (sold separately) at full speed - as opposed to just galloping on the earth's surface... or for dancing :) Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Secret Cinema & Kalden Bess!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Secret Cinema & Kalden Bess - 'Pow Pow' (Original Mix) Looking to add a little Pow! to your weekend? Rotterdam's Jeroen Verheij aka Secret Cinema and Canadian dj/ producer Bessioud Mohamed Khaled aka m0h aka Kalden Bess - have released a new EP together on Montreal's Ground Factory Records this week! It's called the 'Pow!' EP and it features three tracks - the first song is called 'Bam Bam', followed by 'Pow Pow' and then a dub version of 'Pow Pow'. It's currently available exclusively on Beatport here: http://www.beatport.com/#release/pow-ep/818740

I'm siding with the b-side as it were on this one - this is the 'Original Mix' of 'Pow Pow'. The song has an incredible drive to it - along with trippy French vocals - and plenty of spacey keyboards. You know how some songs are so encompassing that on a good night out they journey beyond the dancefloor - until everyone - people at their tables, in the bar lines ups - everywhere - are dancing? This is one of those songs... Enjoy!
