France's Olivier Giacomotto has teamed up with Spainish duo Amo + Navas aka David Amo and Julio Navas for a new EP called 'Together'! The EP features two tracks - the original mixes of 'Get Together' and 'Dance All Night' - and is released on the Definitive Recordings label. It's the b-side 'Dance All Night' that is most to my liking here with it's fine bassline kicking in at the one minute mark - cowbell follows. Soon the chilled robots being to speak, and at 3:20 in the penguins start taking flight... Enjoy!

British duo Soulsavers are releasing their new album featuring the vocals of Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan next week! 'The Light The Dead See' is the band's fourth album and is released on May 21st on the V2 Records label. The album has twelve tracks and features the lyrics and vocals of Gahan throughout - on all but two short instrumental tracks.
This is the first official single from the album called 'Longest Day' - sounding a bit like some of Depeche Mode's more gospel tinged moments... Enjoy!

London's Trailer Trash Tracys have just released a new video online for their latest single 'Los Angered'! 'Los Angered' is from their debut album called 'Ester' which was released in January on the Double Six Records label, and it's available as a download as well as on cd and vinyl.

The result is an ethereal soundscape that could have easily been featured in a David Lynch film... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ Coldplay Beastie Boys Tribute + Free Download!
SummersRadio™ Coldplay Beastie Boys Tribute + Free Download! Coldplay - '(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)'
While countless musicians have been paying tribute to the Beastie Boys Adam Yauch this weekend, Coldplay have posted a particularly heartfelt live tribute on their website titled 'RIP MCA'. It features the band covering the Beastie Boys classic '(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)' which they performed at a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Friday night, after hearing of Yauch's passing earlier in the day.
Coldplay often incorporate unique and rather unexpected covers into their live performances and this actually isn't the first time that they've covered this song, but not surprisingly there's a beautiful sadness inherit in this particular stripped down performance with Chris Martin adding the line 'We're sending all our love to the Beastie Boys' at the end.

SummersRadio™ Rare Remixes! Beastie Boys - 'No Sleep Till Brooklyn' (LFOMG Remix Featuring Bass Nation & Jason Dennis)/ Franz Ferdinand vs The Beastie Boys - 'Triple Take'
Many music fans have been saddened by the passing of Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys earlier today - myself included. I've been a long time Beasties fan - especially for how they pioneered mixing hip hop with punk and rock. I have a copy of their 1983 single 'Cooky Puss' on cd single and the original 12" pressing of their 1985 single 'She's On It'! I was also lucky enough to meet them back in the 90's, so today I shall feature two rather rare remixes as a small tribute.
'No Sleep Till Brooklyn' was the sixth (!) single released from the Beastie Boys massive debut album 'Licensed To Ill'. The song was produced by Rick Rubin and features guitar riffs courtesy of Slayer's Kerry King. This remix is by Los Angeles producer Johnathan Rivers aka LFOMG - short for 'low frequency oscillator' plus 'oh my goodness' apparently.
Don't be fooled by the dubious name - or the fact that it says dubstep in the title below - this remix released online last November rocks! One of the things I like about it is how he (along with Bass Nation & Jason Dennis) takes the song further into punk and metal territory - the next level kicks in around 1:40... Enjoy!
The 'Franzie Boys' EP was a collection of mashups between Franz Ferdinand and Beastie Boys tracks made by a producer named McSleazy. The four track 12" single was 'unofficially released' on the Half Inch Recordings label in 2004. This is the first track on the EP called 'Triple Take' - a fusion of Franz Ferdinand's 'Take Me Out' and the Beastie Boys 'Triple Trouble' from their 2004 album 'To The 5 Boroughs'... Enjoy!

Hans Bouffmyhre had just released his second single under his new alias Secluded! Please note that these are label previews - both songs are actually 6:36 - so you get an extra two and a half minutes of awesomeness per tune.
As Secluded Bouffmyhre aims 'to explore a new techno vibe, inspired by sounds from Berlin & Detroit' and I must say that this combination is definitely to my liking! This is the 'Original Mix' of 'Hidden'... Enjoy!

There are fine remixes provided by Mike Dehnert and Shifted - but I'm partial to the originals in both cases here. Please note that these are label previews - both songs are actually 6:36 - so you get an extra two and a half minutes of awesomeness per tune.
As Secluded Bouffmyhre aims 'to explore a new techno vibe, inspired by sounds from Berlin & Detroit' and I must say that this combination is definitely to my liking! This is the 'Original Mix' of 'Hidden'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Remix! Paperclip People!
SummersRadio™ New Remix! Paperclip People - 'Throw' (Slam's RTM Remix)
Paperclip People (aka techno legend Carl Craig) have just released a new remix of their club classic 'Throw'! 'Throw' was first released in 1994 in the U.K. on the Open label - with the original version of the song clocking in at over 14 minutes long! You may also know LCD Soundsystem's cover version of it - which was released as a 12" single in 2010 - and included as a bonus track on their 'This Is Happening' album on itunes.
A new remix by Glasgow duo Slam has just been released this week on Craig's own Planet E Communications label, and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/#release/throw-slams-rtm-remix/901392
Slam are respectful of the original but punch it up just enough - it's starts out quite similar but you'll feel it kick in deeper around 1:05 in. This is the new 'Slam's RTM Remix' of 'Throw'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Downloads! Ewok Fur - 'Cloud Colored Sunshades'/ 'Woah, Golden Moon'/ 'Moving To Antarctica Sounds Quite Ok'/ 'Yellowdrone'
Germany's Ewok Fur have released a new EP online called 'Television Summer'! It's the brilliantly named band's second EP and the follow up to their self-titled (or is it title-less?) six track debut 'EP' which was released in November. 'Television Summer' features four tracks and is available as a download both for free or by donation from their Bandcamp page here: http://ewokfur.bandcamp.com/album/television-summer
It's not often that an artist will tag their music as both 'shoegaze' and 'tropical' but this rather experimental EP contains many layers of sounds. Wall of sound is an apt description for music similar to this - but this is something more - a swirlwind of sound perhaps. I really like all four songs here but especially the opener 'Cloud Colored Sunshades' and then the second track 'Woah, Golden Moon' is even more magical and mind altering (you can use the arrows to move from track to track)... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Feature! Listen To All Of April's Posts In One Continous Playlist On YouTube! No Foolin'!
SummersRadio™ New Feature! You can now listen to all of April's posts in one continuous playlist on SummersRadio™'s YouTube channel!
SummersRadio™ created a YouTube channel on May 1st, 2010 - and now that it's been two full years I've decided that it's high time that I put it to use! So as of today at the end of each month I will create a playlist on YouTube for each song that was posted during the previous month - a monthly SummersRadio™ YouTubemix™!
You can now listen to all of April's posts as a continuous playlist - over 3 and 1/2 hours of music - just by clicking play once! And as time permits I will also be backtracking so that previous months will also be available as a continuous set for your listening pleasure.
So if you're entertaining - or just lounging around - and you want to hear quality music non-stop, be one of the very first humans to subscribe to SummersRadio™'s new (well - two years old - but now improved!) YouTube channel
