Drop Out Orchestra have just released new remixes of Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' online today! The Swedish duo have posted three versions of the song - the 'Drop Out Orchestra Remix', an edited single version, and one called 'Dub Will Tear Us Apart'.

The availability of these mixes are a bit tricky - the 'Drop Out Orchestra Remix' (6:12) isn't available for sale just yet. However the 'Remix Edit' (3:36) a shorter version of the first track is currently available as a free download (see below). And thirdly, 'Dub Will Tear Us Apart' (6:20) - an extended dub version of the song - will be available for sale exclusively on Juno starting tomorrow: http://www.junodownload.com/products/dub-will-tear-us-apart/2326307-02/

                   

This is the extended 'Drop Out Orchestra Remix' - they punch up the original so it sounds a bit like 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' meets The Clash's 'Rock The Casbah' - with strings. It's not sacrilegious, it's fun... Enjoy!

The Swedish duo love Tame Impala and the song so they decided to do their own version - here are their comments: "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" is really enthralling, it's like there are several different worlds inside one song. How it feels like a simple rock song (with almost pop melodies) but with a field of colour bursts of warm layered instrumentation that re-invents itself throughout the whole song... but it wasn't until we started making our own version that we discovered how beautiful the lyrics are - another world in itself - so we decided to strip the groove back and take it into another place.'

Olander - who's released several EP's on Eric Prydz's Pryda Friends label - has released 'Factures' (no first 'r') on the Sudbeat Music label. Sudbeat was created in 2009 by Hernan Cattaneo in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Drumcode have just released a new compilation called 'Swedish Silver Volume II'! 'Swedish Silver Volume II' is the long awaited follow up to the first volume - which was released in 2006 to celebrate the Swedish techno label's tenth anniversary.

It's been a warm summer day here in Vancouver and there's a fresh cool breeze drifting in off of English Bay as the sun sets - the perfect setting for a dreamy pop song! It reminds me of Hawaii actually. Taken By Trees is the solo project of Swedish singer Victoria Bergsman - and 'Dreams' is the first single from her forthcoming third album - you may recognize her vocals from Peter, Bjorn & John's indie hit 'Young Folks'.

The new album is called 'Other Worlds' - inspired by a trip to Hawaii - and is set for release on October 2nd on the Secretly Canadian label (which is actually American - based in Bloomington, Indiana). SummersRadio™ New Music! Miike Snow featuring Lykke Li - 'Black Tin Box'/ Miike Snow - 'Devil's Work' (Alex Metric Remix)

Swedish electronic pop trio Miike Snow have just released their new album online this week! 'Happy To You' is the band's second album and the follow up to their self titled 2009 debut. There will be several versions of the release available - the deluxe digital version features 14 songs - two regular tracks plus two additional remixes, along with two video tracks and is available now on itunes.

The album will also be released physically on a single cd, double cd, and on vinyl on March 26th (U.K.)/ 27th (North America). The single disc features only ten tracks, the vinyl has all 12, and the 'Happy To You' Deluxe Edition double cd features the same 12, plus the two remixes featured on the deluxe digital version, plus an additional three remixes exclusive to this package!

'Black Tin Box' is not a single - yet - but I suspect it will be soon. It's certainly one of the album's standout tracks and it features guest vocals from fellow Swedish singer Li Lykke Timotej Svensson Zachrisson aka Lykke Li... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Harvey McKay - 'Supercell' (Original Mix)/ Alan Fitzpatrick - 'Running Backwards' (Original Mix) Sweden's finest (and one of the world's finest) techno label(s) Drumcode are celebrating their 15th anniversary with the release of a brand new compilation fittingly titled '15 Years Of Drumcode'. This compilation may not be what one might expect though - it's no greatest hits collection - they're not flogging the past - they're flogging the future! :)

'15 Years Of Drumcode' features 28 tracks - and all of them are brand new! It actually makes sense for a forward thinking label - especially when they're clearly in their prime. Actually after listening to these 28 tracks, this compilation suggests to me that their best is still yet to come. There's no shortage of quality tunes here - I could easily feature this compilation over a few different posts. However, for now I've chosen my two favorite songs so far - if they're to your liking you can check out some of the other 26 new songs on the compilation (which is currently available as a download exclusively on Beatport) here:

First up we have Glasgow dj/ producer Harvey McKay with his song called 'Supercell' - the 27th track on the compilation. I totally love the superbly hypntoic production on this one - it reminds me a bit of one of my all time favorite club tunes - Age Of Love's 'Age Of Love'. This song chugs along like a magical runaway train ride - through space! I ♥ it... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Ida Engberg - 'Junoverse'/ 'Blue Yonder' Ida Engberg is an artist/ dj/ producer from Stockholm Sweden, who's just released her latest EP on the country's leading techno label Drumcode! The somewhat space themed EP is called 'Blue Yonder' and it features two songs - the title track and one called 'Junoverse' - and both tracks embrace funk and house as well as techno.

There are times like in yesterday's Mono Dos post where the b-side stands out more than the title track - and then there are times when you like both tracks so much that you can't even decide which song is better - which is of course the ultimate scenerio for a single or two track EP! At this moment I'm leaning towards the b-side a bit more - although I really like both - so we shall begin with 'Junoverse'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! The Field! Sweden's Axel Willner aka The Field has just released his new album called 'Looping State Of Mind'! Like yesterday's post from Gui Borotto - The Field's newest album is released on Germany's Kompakt label - and in both cases it's the artists third full length album. 'Looping State Of Mind' is available digitally now, and it will also be released on cd and vinyl on October 24th (Europe)/ 25th (North America).

'Looping State Of Mind' contains just seven tracks - but each one is between seven and eleven minutes long! The tough part has been deciding which ones to post, as it's a very solid album - and as the title suggests it's also quite hypnotic. I shall begin with what is my favorite track on it so far - 'Then It's White' - the sixth song on the album - and also the spaciest :) ...Enjoy!



Axel Willner also records under the monikers Lars Blek, James Larsson, Porte, and Cordouan! Here's another new track from The Field's excellent new album 'Looping State Of Mind' - this is the second song on the album called 'It's Up There'... Enjoy!



I like The Field's new third album 'Looping State Of Mind' so much that I'm going to feature a third song from it! I was trying to decide if I could wait until the physical cd is out next month to purchase it - or if I should go for the download which is available now. SummersRadio™ New Music/ Remixes! Little Dragon - 'Ritual Union' (Original Mix/ Tensnake Remix/ Maya Jane Coles Remix) Sweden's Little Dragon have just released a new EP this week! It's for their new single 'Ritual Union' - which is the second single and title track for their forthcoming third album which is due for release on July 26th.

The EP (and the album) is released on London's Peacefrog Records - it contains the title track - plus two remixes of it - and a remix of their last single 'Nightlight' by the Unknown Mortal Orchestra. I'm having a difficult time choosing which versions of 'Ritual Union' I like best so I'm going to post all three! In any case it's a great tune for a (mostly!) sunny summer day like today!
