Chrissie Hynde is releasing her debut solo album called 'Stockholm' in June! Although she's released ten albums with The Pretenders and collaborated with numerous other artists, (including electronica artists Moodswings, Hybrid and Tube & Berger) 'Stockholm' will be her first ever solo album.

'Stockholm' will be released on June 9th (U.K. & Europe)/ 10th (North America). Stockholm's Jeremy Olander has released a new song called 'Factures'!
Olander - who's released several EP's on Eric Prydz's Pryda Friends label - has released 'Factures' (no first 'r') on the Sudbeat Music label. Sudbeat was created in 2009 by Hernan Cattaneo in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

                   

The song is one of sixteen tracks included on the label's very first compilation called 'Sudbeats' - which is currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/sudbeats/1067779

'Factures' is one of those songs that I think would be perfect to soundtrack a great ride through space in a flying car (really now - what's the holdup there?) ...

SummersRadio™ New Music! Ida Engberg - 'Junoverse'/ 'Blue Yonder' Ida Engberg is an artist/ dj/ producer from Stockholm Sweden, who's just released her latest EP on the country's leading techno label Drumcode! The somewhat space themed EP is called 'Blue Yonder' and it features two songs - the title track and one called 'Junoverse' - and both tracks embrace funk and house as well as techno.

There are times like in yesterday's Mono Dos post where the b-side stands out more than the title track - and then there are times when you like both tracks so much that you can't even decide which song is better - which is of course the ultimate scenerio for a single or two track EP! At this moment I'm leaning towards the b-side a bit more - although I really like both - so we shall begin with 'Junoverse'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Remix + Free Download! Peter Bjorn & John - 'Second Chance' (RAC Mix) Stockholm's indie rock trio Peter Bjorn & John released their sixth album called 'Gimme Some' earlier this week, and the first single from it - 'Second Chance' - has just been remixed by the RAC!

The RAC or Remix Artist Collective is also a trio at it's core - consisting of New York's Andrew Maurey, Portugal's Andre Allen Anjos (who now resides in Portland) and Portland's Karl Kling - that generally remix indie rock songs and artists. SummersRadio™ New Music! Alex Metric & Steve Angello!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Alex Metric & Steve Angello - 'Open Your Eyes' (Original Mix) I actually first posted this song last September (via the SummersRadio™ Facebook group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=366897324071), but then when I wanted to repost it during my Best Of 2010 listings all I could find was a preview snippet - and I don't like snippets!

Someone had obviously posted the song well before it was time, as it's only been released exclusively on Beatport this week - and even now it's only available in certain countries - and still not in Canada! Regardless, London's Alex Metric and Stockholm's Steve Angello have created a club masterpiece. With it's many varied sounds and tempo changes it manages to sound like a whole night full of great music in just over 7 minutes! 

I've been a fan of Alex Metric's work for many years and although I find some of Steve Angello's music a bit too mainstream for my taste, this is a good pairing - a nice mix of underground and popular sounds - I particularly like the Daft Punk-y part about 2:15 in... Enjoy!
