Tame Impala have just released a new song online today - a cover of Michael Jackson's 'Stranger In Moscow'! So what is this - covers week?! Notable covers don't come along often - but here we are with our third in as many days.
Michael Jackson released 'Stranger In Moscow' in 1996 as the fifth single from his 'HIStory: Past, Present And Future, Book 1' album. I'm not a fan of the original song but Tame Impala make it their own - making it feel like less of a ballad and more like a dreamy psychedelic number.

The 'Erol Alkan Rework' will be released on one sided 12" vinyl limited to 1500 copies worldwide, and it will also be released digitally on Dec. 10th (U.K.)/ 11th (North America).

Say Lou Lou have just released a new cover of Tame Impala's instant classic 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards' online today!
The Swedish duo love Tame Impala and the song so they decided to do their own version - here are their comments: "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" is really enthralling, it's like there are several different worlds inside one song. How it feels like a simple rock song (with almost pop melodies) but with a field of colour bursts of warm layered instrumentation that re-invents itself throughout the whole song... but it wasn't until we started making our own version that we discovered how beautiful the lyrics are - another world in itself - so we decided to strip the groove back and take it into another place.'

Tame Impala have released a new remix EP for their latest single 'Mind Mischief'! The three song EP features the original version plus two remixes - one from New York based Matt Mondanile aka Ducktails and one from Sweden's Axel Willner aka The Field - and it's available on iTunes now.
Both remixes are postworthy - let's begin with the 'Ducktails Remix' who goes for a trip hop/ dub vibe with plenty of vocal effects... Enjoy!

Tame Impala have just released a new video for their latest single 'Mind Mischief'! 'Mind Mischief' is the third official video and single released from their album 'Lonerism' - following 'Elephant' and 'It Feels Like We Only Go Backwards'.
The video deals with a common fantasy we've all experienced at some point - especially while being an undersexed teen... having a crush on a teacher! The video mixes live action film with psychedelic animation - so it's difficult to speculate how much of this was imagined by the student - but I reckon it's safe to say that he's still a virgin at the end... Enjoy!
