Octopus Records has just unleashed their 50th release with an astounding EP from the Spanish label's founder Sian! 'The Policeman Inside You'/'Famous Child Actor' EP features four tracks - the originals of each track plus one remix of each from Ambivalent and Sam Paganini respectively. Kudos to Octopus on reaching their 50th - I like how Sian describes its ascension: "In honesty we can't believe we made it this far,we thought we would be dead or in jail by now.Started with 50 bucks and a pipe dream,Octopus has grown into one of the top 5 selling Techno labels on Beatport in the last two years.Refusing management deals and buy ins along the way we are proud to be truly independent.We wanted to rock the balls off everyone on the 50th release so we went all out."
All four tracks on the EP are mind altering sonic wonders! I'd also feature Sam Paganini's remix of 'The Policeman Inside You' if it was available anywhere to share - but you can hear a clip of it on the above link. SummersRadio™ New Music/ Video + Concert News! Pet Shop Boys - 'Axis'
Pet Shop Boys have just released their new single called 'Axis' today! 'Axis' is the first single from their forthcoming new album (their twelfth) called 'Electric', which will be released on July 15th through Kobalt Label Services. The album is produced by Stuart Price (aka Jacques Lu Cont, etc.) and PSB - it features nine tracks including a cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'The Last To Die'. 'Axis' is available on iTunes as of today. Here is the album cover art:
Pet Shop Boys are already touring in support of 'Electric' and they've just announced a Vancouver date - at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on October 3rd. Pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at Ticketmaster.
It's great to see the duo moving on from the blandness of last year's 'Elysium' so quickly. 'Axis' is certainly their most full on dance single in some time, and if the full album has this much energy it sounds like they've got a winner - for real this time...

SummersRadio™ New Video! Boards Of Canada - 'Toonami Ad'
Boards Of Canada have just released a new 90 second commercial featuring new music! The ad ran on Toonami (on the Comedy Network) on the weekend and now it's been posted on YouTube. It features 90 seconds of new music from their upcoming new seventeen track studio album (their fourth) called 'Tomorrow's Harvest', which is released on June 10th (Europe)/ 11th (North America) by Warp Records.
This video features what appears to be an abandoned settlement in the desert - but even more mysterious is the music playing. Aside from mentioning the number 699742 there are no lyrics, but this is certainly a very intriguing glimpse into what the album may sound like... Enjoy!

'Soft Light Rush' is the closing track on the new reissue of his previously self released debut album called 'Holiday'. 'Holiday' is released by Downtown Records and it's available now on iTunes.
The gorgeous video for 'Soft Light Rush' is directed by Hana Tajima who's created a piece that resembles what our dreams might look like - someday when we're able to record and watch them... Enjoy!

'All You're Waiting For' is the second single from the forthcoming album (following 'Holding On') and it features the lovely vocals of LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang who has a certain sweetness and sincerity in her voice that is reminiscent of the Human League.
