SummersRadio™ New Music! Sian - 'Medicine Man' (Original Mix)/ 'Fur' (Original Mix)/ Sian & Cold Burn - 'Diamond Shore' (Original Mix)
Barcelona's Sian has released an amazing new EP called 'Medicine Man'! The 'Medicine Man' EP features three tracks - the title song plus 'Fur' and 'Diamond Shore'. 'Medicine Man' is the first single from his forthcoming new album called 'Anthracite'.
Sian will be touring North America in support of his 'Anthracite' album including dates in Toronto (July 31st at Coda) and Vancouver (October 3rd at Mia). http://www.bandsintown.com/Sian
Here's something that doesn't happen often - I'm posting all three songs from a three song EP - because they're all Aces! Three Stoner House™ instant classics! First up is the title track... Enjoy!
This is 'Fur' - please note that this is a label edit - the full song is 5:57... Enjoy!
'Diamond Shore' features Cold Burn - this is also a label edit - the full song is 5:32... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Macromism - 'Blocked Mind'/ 'Minimum'
Italian duo Macromism have released a new EP called 'Blocked Mind'! The 'Blocked Mind' EP features four tracks - the title track, 'Amplitude', 'Flight Deck' and 'Minimum'. It's released on Octopus Records and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/blocked-mind/1114770
It's been tough deciding which songs to feature here - all four tracks have this wonderfully dark and mysterious other worldly feel to them. Perhaps there was a poltergeist or two present in the studio during the recording? In any case I highly recommend the entire EP as the production work is stunning throughout - but let's begin here with 'Blocked Mind'... Enjoy!
This is the fourth track on the EP called 'Minimum'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Sian - 'Famous Child Actor' (Original Mix)
Octopus Records has just unleashed their 50th release with an astounding EP from the Spanish label's founder Sian! 'The Policeman Inside You'/'Famous Child Actor' EP features four tracks - the originals of each track plus one remix of each from Ambivalent and Sam Paganini respectively. It's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/the-policeman-inside-you-famous-child-actor/1072960
Kudos to Octopus on reaching their 50th - I like how Sian describes its ascension: "In honesty we can't believe we made it this far,we thought we would be dead or in jail by now.Started with 50 bucks and a pipe dream,Octopus has grown into one of the top 5 selling Techno labels on Beatport in the last two years.Refusing management deals and buy ins along the way we are proud to be truly independent. We wanted to rock the balls off everyone on the 50th release so we went all out."
All four tracks on the EP are mind altering sonic wonders! I'd also feature Sam Paganini's remix of 'The Policeman Inside You' if it was available anywhere to share - but you can hear a clip of it on the above link. I'm not sure if any particular famous child actor is being referenced here - how old was Pac-Man when he started? Here's a teaser from the label featuring a minute of 'Famous Child Actor'... Enjoy!
Remarkable I say - but too short - here's the full 'Original Mix' in all it's glory - I love when the music drops back in around 3:58... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™'s 777th Post! New Music! Jon Gurd - 'The Heat' (Original Mix)
It's our 777th post - hoo-ray! Let's celebrate with some Stoner House™! England's Jon Gurd has released a new EP called 'The Heat'. It features two versions of the title track (the original mix plus a remix from Caytas & Patz) and a song called 'Life In Layers'. It's released on Octopus Records and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/#release/the-heat/920022
Jon's biography on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/#!/jongurd/info) describes his productions as "hinging themselves along the spectrum of house and techno" which certainly seems apt here as 'The Heat' is a fine techno/ house hybrid. Octopus Records says"his gravity defying mixture of stun effect bass and big engine drums have catapulted him onto the worlds underground" - I must say that I find the concept of being catapulted underground rather intriguing.
'The Heat' features spoken word lyrics echoing over mysterious vocal loops, driving rhythms - and it even has some fine cowbell... Enjoy!
*update* Thefull length version of 'The Heat' has been taken off of Youtube, so instead we present these:
