Pet Shop Boys have just released their new single called 'Axis' today! 'Axis' is the first single from their forthcoming new album (their twelfth) called 'Electric', which will be released on July 15th through Kobalt Label Services. The album is produced by Stuart Price (aka Jacques Lu Cont, etc.) and PSB - it features nine tracks including a cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'The Last To Die'. 'Axis' is available on iTunes as of today. Here is the album cover art:
Pet Shop Boys are already touring in support of 'Electric' and they've just announced a Vancouver date - at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on October 3rd. Pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at Ticketmaster.
It's great to see the duo moving on from the blandness of last year's 'Elysium' so quickly. 'Axis' is certainly their most full on dance single in some time, and if the full album has this much energy it sounds like they've got a winner - for real this time...
