SummersRadio™ New Remix + Free Download! Midlake - The Old And The Young' (Moullinex Edit)
Moullinex has just released a new remix of Midlake's latest single 'The Old And The Young' online today! The Lisbon producer has remixed the Denton, Texas indie/ folk rock band's single from their latest album 'Antiphon'. 'Antiphon' is the band's first new album since the departure of songwriter/ vocalist Tim Smith - their guitarist Eric Pulido has now taken over vocal duties.
Moullinex did not intend to release this remix - he made it simply so he could play the track out. However, after numerous requests he's decided to post it on Soundcloud today - and as a bonus he's made it available as a free download here: https://soundcloud.com/moullinex/the-old-and-the-young (or simply click on the download arrow below)

SummersRadio™ New Remix + Free Download! Philosophy Of Sound - 'Freedom, What For?' (DJ Amplifier Remix)
Melbourne's Philosophy Of Sound have just released a new remix of their song 'Freedom, What For?' online today! The duo first released 'Freedom, What For?' in March, 2012 on the Portugal label Discotexas - which was founded by Moullinex and Xinobi.
'Freedom, What For?' features some interesting commentary on modern society - and this new disco fuelled remix from John Salmon aka DJ Amplifier has been released on Soundcloud as a free download just in time for New Year's Eve parties!

SummersRadio™ New Music + New Video! Moullinex - 'Take My Pain Away' (Original Mix/ Official Video)/ (DJ Steef Remix)/ Moullinex Featuring Peaches - 'Maniac'
Munich's Luis Clara Gomes aka Moullinex has released a new EP for his new single called 'Take My Pain Away'! The EP features five tracks - the original plus remixes from Gigamesh, Rory Phillips, Strip Steve and DJ Steef. 'Take My Pain Away' is the first single released from his forthcoming debut album called 'Flora' which is released on the 26th.

Like most of Moullinex's EP's 'Take My Pain Away' has a strong underlying disco vibe to it and the song features catchy reassuring vocals from the Jovens Vozes de Lisboa choir. It's a children's choir but somehow they manage to sound a bit like Boney M meets the Tom Tom Club or The Polyphonic Spree in this uplifting dance tune... Enjoy!
This is the 'DJ Steef Remix' of 'Take My Pain Away' - the keyboards are more up front and hypnotic, and the vocals are bit more subtle. Please note that this version is edited - the full 'DJ Steef Remix' features an extra three minutes of hypnotic bliss...Enjoy!
Bonus Track! Back in January Gomma released an eight track EP - four songs plus four remixes - called 'Casablanca Reworks'. It featured some of their artists covering songs from the legendary Casablanca Records catalogue - and they asked Peaches to provide the vocals!

SummersRadio™ Classic! S'Express - 'Theme From S'Express' Like myself you may have recognized the sample in the Moullinex track below from this 1988 club classic - however this isn't where it originated! As Moullinex mentions on Soundcloud 'And yeah, the sample is blatant.. and No, it's not S'Express... ;)' The horn sample is from a song called 'Is It Love You're After' by Rose Royce from their 1979 album called 'Rose Royce IV: Rainbow Connection'. Rose Royce were a soul/ funk band from Los Angeles and are best known for their title track from the 1976 hit movie 'Car Wash'.
The main force behind S'Express was dj/ producer Mark Moore and although this song is based around the Rose Royce sample, it's just one of 15 songs that were sampled in the 'Theme From S'Express'. The song is considered a classic for both it's use of samples and also because it brought the acid house sound to the masses - reaching number 1 on both the U.K. singles and U.S. club charts.
