And now for our final entry for Startlefest 2013 - we have a brand new scary video from Bleached! Well this is interesting - the power just went out - what timing! I reckon it's due to the massive winds swirling around outside. In any case that delays dinner for a bit, but my fully charged laptop will keep the ghouls coming - this adorable little creature is from the 1975 horror film 'Trilogy Of Terror':

                     

Bleached have released their new video for 'Love Spells' just in time for Halloween. It's the latest single and video released from their debut album 'Ride Your Heart' which is available now on the Dead Oceans label. What do zombies do on sunny days? They go to rad concerts in the woods of course - beware of the 'Love Spells'... Enjoy!

Startlefest 2013 continues... with the closing track from the score of the 1999 film 'The Virgin Suicides'. The film was based on the book by Jeffrey Eugenides, it was directed by Sophia Coppola and it was produced by her father Francis Ford Coppola.

                             

The score was written by French duo Air - and the final track on the score features a portion of the film's narration - pitched down - and set to their music to create an eerie finish... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ STARTLEFEST 2013 Halloween Spectacular! Rare Remix! Oingo Boingo - 'Dead Man's Party' (Party Til Your Dead Mix)

Startlefest 2013 - our fourth annual Halloween Spectacular continues... with a rare extended remix from Oingo Boingo! 'Dead Man's Party' was the title track and third single released from the band's fifth album in 1986.

                   

The song (and band) also appeared in the 1986 film 'Back To School' starring Rodney Dangerfield, Sam Kinison and Robert Downey Jr. The band's vocalist Danny Elfman went on to write dozens of film scores including many for Tim Burton and he also wrote title theme for The Simpsons.

The 'Party Til Your Dead Mix' of 'Dead Man's Party' was only released on the 12" vinyl single (along with 'Stay') for the song in 1986.... Enjoy!

Mogwai have just released a spooky new song online called 'Remurdered'! The song is the first taster from the Glasgow band's forthcoming eighth studio album called 'Rave Tapes'. SummersRadio™ Classic! Ministry - 'Everyday Is Halloween' (Remix) Ministry first released this song on 12" in 1984 and then again with remixes in '86, and to this day it resonates with fans of both goth culture and of anyone who's ever felt like an outsider. This remix is currently available on their 'Early Trax' release. I always think of this song as the missing link between their early 80's new romantic songs like 'Work For Love' and their transformation to their much heavier sound that followed later in the decade.
