SummersRadio™ New Music! Dum Dum Girls - 'Lost Boys And Girls Club'
Dum Dum Girls have just released a new song and video online called 'Lost Boys And Girls Club'! 'Lost Boys And Girls Club' is the first new song to surface from the New York based band's forthcoming third album which is due out in January on Sub Pop Records.
The video for "Lost Boys And Girls Club' was made with some help from the Swedish worldwide clothing company H & M. It's the first video in a new series from H & M Life that will see the company working with young and developing artists from around the world.

SummersRadio™ New Remix + Free Download! Frankie Rose - 'The Fall' (Fort Romeau Remix)
Brooklyn's Frankie Rose has just released a new remix online of her song 'The Fall'! Frankie Rose is a former member of three Brooklyn bands - The Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls, and Vivian Girls. She released her first solo album under the name Frankie Rose & The Outs in 2010, and her latest album as simply Frankie Rose called 'Interstellar' in February.
She'll soon be releasing a new EP for her song 'Night Swim' that will include two demo tracks and a bonus disc including two new remixes from The Go! Team, and this one from London's Fort Romeau. If this dreamy electronic remix is to your liking her label Slumberland Records have made it available as a free download on Soundcloud - simply click on the download icon below.

Dum Dum Girls have just released a new song online called 'Lord Knows'! 'Lord Knows' is the first single from a new EP called 'End Of Daze' which will be released on September 25th on Sub Pop.
The EP features five tracks including a cover of 80's female duo Strawberry Switchblade's 'Trees And Flowers'. 'End Of Daze' (like both of their full length albums) was produced by Richard Gottehrer - who's great body of work includes producing the debut albums for two of my all time favorite bands - Blondie and The Go-Go's!

SummersRadio™ New Video! Dum Dum Girls - 'Coming Down' (video)
Dum Dum Girls have just released a new video online for their single 'Coming Down'! We first featured 'Coming Down' last July when it was released as a limited free download as a taster from their second album 'Only In Dreams' which came out in September http://summersradio.blogspot.ca/2011/07/summersradio-new-music-free-download_22.html.

'Coming Down' received a limited released on 7" vinyl in September but an official video has only been released this week - and it's directed by band member Malia James. It uses the 7" edited version of the song and it appears to be a tribute of sorts to a live performance art piece by Yoko Ono.
Yoko first performed 'Cut Piece' in 1964 in Japan where she sat kneeling on the stage wearing her best suit of clothing, with a pair of scissors placed on the floor in front of her. Audience members were invited to approach the stage one at a time, and cut a bit of her clothes off. They chose which part to cut - and they were allowed to keep their piece. While I love this song - and Yoko Ono (you can check out my celebration of her birthday last month here: http://summersradio.blogspot.ca/2012/02/summersradio-new-music-remixes-yoko-ono.html) I'm currently undecided as to how well this video fits with the song itself. I might just prefer the original non-official slide show video which can be seen in the first link above - particularly because the song is unedited there (over two minutes longer) but regardless this new video is still a fine opportunity to give this beautiful song another listen... SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Black Tambourine featuring The Rinettes - 'What's Your Game'
Black Tambourine have just released their latest single online - and it features backing vocals from Kristen Gundred aka Dee Dee from the Dum Dum Girls! Black Tambourine are a 'noisy pop' band that formed in Washington D.C. in 1989 and were influenced by the sounds of Phil Spector, The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Ramones, and artists signed to Alan McGee's label Creation Records.
They were together for only a short time and they released only two EP's in the early 90's, but they in turn have gone on to influence newer indie pop bands such as The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and the Dum Dum Girls - and they've recently reformed!
In fact Dee Dee notes on the Dum Dum Girls Facebook page that it's a 'huge honor to sing backups for a band that means a lot to me.' 'What's Your Game' features The Rinettes on backing vocals that includes Linda Smith, Rose Melberg, Jenny Robbins, and Dee Dee herself. The song is from Black Tambourine's forthcoming new EP of Ramones covers called 'OneTwoThreeFour' which is due for release on May 15th on their label Slumberland Records.

SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Dum Dum Girls - 'Coming Down' The Dum Dum Girls are an all female four piece band from Los Angeles, led by singer/ songwriter Kristen Grunded aka Dee Dee. They released their debut album called 'I Will Be' on Seattle's Sub Pop Records last March. It was produced by Richard Gottehrer - who is responsible for producing the debut albums from Blondie and the Go-Go's. The Dum Dum Girls are a bit darker sounding than those two bands - they've cited The Ronettes, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Mazzy Star as major influences.
Dum Dum Girls are set to release their second album called 'Only In Dreams' in September. The album is preceded by the tragic passing of her mother last October, who was suffering from brain cancer. Dee Dee describes this difficult period thusly: 'It was really hard to figure out how to balance the opportunity of having a record out on Sub Pop and wanting to tour, and then feeling really awful for not staying home and just quitting music for the year. Our next record, as much as I really love the songs, is definitely a dark record.'
