'Ambulance City' is the first single and video from 'Get Back' - it looks like they had a few laughs making this one - which I reckon had a budget of around zero dollars... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Drumcell - 'Speak Silence' (Original Mix)
Drumcell has just released a remix EP for his song 'Speak Silence'. Los Angeles's Moe Espinosa aka Drumcell's new EP features four tracks - the original plus remixes from Brian Sanhaji, Francesco Tristano and Slumberman. It's released on the CLR label and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/speak-silence/1220477
I quite like the cover art:
I was actually going to feature one of the remixes today, but none of them are quite as menacing or as trippy as the original so here's the 'Original Mix'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Remix + Free Download! Simon & Garfunkel - 'The Sound Of Silence' (LUXXURY Edit)
Los Angeles producer LUXXURY has just released a new remix online of Simon & Garfunkel's classic 'The Sound Of Silence'! 'The Sound Of Silence' was first released as a track on the duo's 1964 debut album called 'Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.' - however it didn't become a hit until a remixed version was released in 1965.
Now if you choose to remix a classic like this it's quite easy to ruin the song - unless you do it tastefully enough to be different while still maintaining the appeal of the original - and thankfully that's exactly what LUXXURY does here.
If this remix is to your liking you can download a copy for free by clicking on the download icon below. This is LUXXURY's third remix in a series - you can keep up with him either here on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/luxxury and/ or here on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Luxxury
This is the new 'LUXXURY Edit' of 'The Sound Of Silence'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! AM & Shawn Lee - 'Steppin' Out'
AM & Shawn Lee have released a brilliant cover of Joe Jackson's new wave classic 'Steppin' Out'! AM & Shawn Lee are a duo who spend their time between Los Angeles and London. They released their second album called 'La Musique Numerique' last month on the Park The Van Label (available on iTunes).
'Steppin' Out' was originally released by Joe Jackson in 1982 as a single from his album 'Night And Day'. AM & Shawn Lee's cover is quite faithful to the charming original but with more contemporary keyboard sounds and a slightly more laid back feel - and if it's to your liking you can download a copy for free by clicking on the arrow below... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Destructo - 'Higher' (Brodinski Remix)
L.A.'s Gary Richards aka Destructo has just released a new EP called 'Higher'! The 'Higher' EP features five tracks - the original title track plus three remixes - along with a song called '2112'. It's released by Boysnoize Records and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/higher/1099403
'Higher' features a short vocal sample 'Get higher baby' from the song 'White Lines' by Grandmaster Melle Mel - which was released in 1983 on Sugar Hill Records. While the 'Original Mix' of 'Higher' is a fusion of house and dubstep elements, this remix from France's Brodinski is more of a techno/ dubstep hybrid... Enjoy!
This new remix by Oliver & Thee Mike B is more subtle than the aforementioned mashups. On one hand it sounds slightly stripped down - but in the other ways it seems more layered. The bassline is brought to the forefront and the song becomes more spacious in the last few minutes. If this remix is to your liking you can download a copy for free on Soundcloud by clicking the arrow below.
SummersRadio™ New Remix! Phoenix - 'Entertainment' (Hot Natured Remix)
Phoenix have released a new remix of their latest single 'Entertainment'! The song has been remixed by Hot Natured - a four piece outfit that splits their time between Los Angeles and London. This one track remix single is released on the Glassnote Records label and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/entertainment-hot-natured-remix/1080341
Hot Natured strips away the frenetic pop sheen of the original and replaces it with a laid back nu-disco vibe... Enjoy!

Bleached are playing live at the Fortune Sound Club tonight! Bleached are a duo (and a four piece live) from Los Angeles consisting of sisters Jennifer and Jessica Clavin. They released their debut album called 'Ride Your Heart' last month on the Dead Oceans label.

Bleach list Blondie and the Ramones as some of their influences on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/HelloBleached) and you can certainly hear echoes of the Ramones, early Blondie and even shoegaze on this standout album track 'Dead In Your Head'... Enjoy!
Classixx are releasing their debut album called 'Hanging Gardens'! The Californian production duo are releasing their debut on May 15th on the Future Classic label. 'All You're Waiting For' is the second single from the forthcoming album (following 'Holding On') and it features the lovely vocals of LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang who has a certain sweetness and sincerity in her voice that is reminiscent of the Human League.
Disco is back (not that it ever really went away) - Daft Punk says so. This is 'All You're Waiting For'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! In The Valley Below - 'Hymnal'
In The Valley Below are a new band from Echo Park, Los Angeles who released their self titled debut EP in October. The band features two main vocalists (Jeffrey Jacob and Angela Gail) who tend to sing in a duet style - a bit like The xx, but livelier - without sounding like they're in a coma! Jeffrey also plays guitar along with keyboardist Jeremy Grant and drummer Joshua Clair. I like how they describe their sound/ genre on Facebook as 'Indie Dusk, Dark Duet': http://www.facebook.com/inthevalleybelow
They've also recently released a new song online called 'Hymnal' which won me over instantly well before the song even ended. It's a gorgeous tune featuring their lovely harmonies over soothing keyboards. I particularly like the backing vocal effects and the lyric 'I wish I found you sooner, I could have loved you longer'.
For some reason there's no share/ embed option on Soundcloud for this song so please click on the link below to listen. If 'Hymnal' is to your liking you can download a free copy courtesy of wearesolidgold simply by clicking the download icon on Soundcloud... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Secret Circuit - 'Jungle Bones' (Prins Thomas Bonus Beat)
Secret Circuit is the project of Los Angeles producer Eddie Ruscha - with friends - and they've just released a new EP called 'Jungle Dogs/ Jungle Bones'! The EP features two songs and three tracks - the title song as well as two separate mixes - the 'Tiago Remix' of 'Jungle Dogs' and this 'Prins Thomas Bonus Beat' remix of 'Jungle Bones' by Norwegian producer Prins Thomas.
Secret Circuit infuse psychedelic elements into their music and Prins Thomas (also known for his work with Lindstrom) is known for producing space disco and the result on this remix could perhaps most aptly be described as psychedelic space disco - with a hint of acid techno... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Kitten - 'Cut It Out' (includes free download)/ Panic

They've also made 'Cut It Out' and another track from the forthcoming EP called 'Sugar' available as a free download from their official website here: http://www.kittentheband.com/home-m
This is 'Cut It Out'... Enjoy!
Bonus Track! Kitten recorded this cover of The Smiths 'Panic' last year for theAmerican Laundromat records compilation 'Please, Please, Please: A Tribute To The Smiths'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Saint Motel - 'Honest Feedback'
L.A.'s Saint Motel have just released a brand new single called 'Honest Feedback' online! It was only just over a month ago that the band released the new video for their previous single 'At Least I Have Nothing' which you can check out/ revisit here: http://summersradio.blogspot.com/2012/02/summersradio-new-video-saint-motel.html and they've already posted a new follow up single on Soundcloud which is available as a free download for a limited time.
'Honest Feedback' includes the lines "So many people again and again, They make their enemies telling the truth to their friends" - which explains the songs title - but there's something else going on here too. The line 'Your tongue's magic' is so overtly sexual without being explicit - it's perfect! The song has a summery laid back feel - it reminds a bit of one of The Bravery's more chilled tunes - their earlier material, before they got a bit lame.
This is Saint Motel's new single 'Honest Feedback' and if it's to your liking just click the download icon for your free download courtesy of the band themselves... Enjoy!
Bonus Track! The Bravery - 'An Honest Mistake' (Superdiscount Remix)
'An Honest Mistake' was The Bravery's first single from their self titled debut album which was released in 2005. This is the 'Superdiscount Remix' by France's Etienne De Crecy aka Superdiscount which was included on the cd single for their third single 'Unconditional'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Magic Wands - 'Space' Magic Wands have just released the first single from their forthcoming debut album online! Magic Wands are a duo from Los Angeles consisting of Chris and Dexy Valentine. They released their first EP called 'Magic Love & Dreams' in 2009, and their debut full length album called 'Aloha Moon' is set to be released on April 24th on the Bright Antenna label.
'Space' is the first taster from the new album - a catchy new wave tune that sounds a bit like Blondie meets The Raveonettes via Ladytron - so in other words it's pretty awesome... Enjoy!
