SummersRadio™ New Remix + Free Download! Heaven - 'Colors In The Whites Of Your Eyes' (Computer Magic Remix)
Heaven have released a new remix of their single'Colors In The Whites Of Your Eyes' online! Heaven are a Brooklyn based dream pop band that released their debut album called 'Telepathetic Love' in July on the Goodnight Records label.
The always captivating Danz of Computer Magic makes the shoegazey original a bit more psychedelic and synth friendly - and if it's to your liking you can download a copy for free on Soundcloud here: https://soundcloud.com/goodnightrecords/heaven-colors-in-the-whites-1 (or by clicking on the arrow below)
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Computer Magic - 'All I Ever Wanted' (Demo)
Summersradio™ favourites Computer Magic have just released a new song online called 'All I Ever Wanted'! Technically this is a demo but like Danz's other demos the production is so impeccable that it's more than postworthy.
The Brooklyn artist just released her second album called 'Phonetics' exclusively in Japan earlier this month, and she's currently working on a new full length record 'for the rest of the world'.
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Computer Magic - 'Time To Decide'
Brooklyn's Computer Magic have released a new song online called 'Time To Decide'! This is the seventh time we've featured Computer Magic on SummersRadio™ - and that's not counting their spots on both the Best Of 2011 and Best Of 2012 year end lists - so you could say we're fans.
Danz charms us once again with her soothing synths and lovely harmonies on 'Time To Decide' and if the song's to your liking you can download a copy for free from Soundcloud for a limited time by clicking on the arrow below... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Computer Magic -'Another Science'
Brooklyn's wonderful Computer Magic has just released a new EP called 'A Million Years/ Another Science'! The four track EP includes the title track plus a remix by Chrome Canyon, as well as the previously featured song 'Everest' http://summersradio.blogspot.ca/2012/06/summersradio-new-music-computer-magic.html and this track called 'Another Science'.
'Another Science' sounds like it could be influenced by some of my favourite synth pop artists over the years including Giorgio Moroder, Gary Numan, Dot Allison and The Human League to name a few - and yet I reckon she sounds as fresh as a spring morning. The EP is self-released and available on iTunes now!
This new song and EP also reaffirm Computer Magic as one of my favourite bands to emerge in the last of couple years. 'Another Science' features great layered synths and lush production - and the beautiful vocals of singer Danz are the icing on the cake... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Computer Magic - 'Don't Speak'
Brooklyn's Computer Magic have just released a new song online called 'Don't Speak'! Computer Magic are"made up of mewzickal produc3r Danz, and for live shows Egan on the drums." 'Don't Speak' is a cover of No Doubt's massive crossover hit from their 1996 album 'Tragic Kingdom'. Danz explains: "Just did a cover of No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak”. I guess that’s what New York blizzards do to people, make them cover 90’s songs. Enjoy." Their cover - while quite faithful to the original structurally - has a different feel to it - more like a 70's pop song than from the 90's really. Either way it's much more refreshing to listen to this version than the original for the billionth time! If this cover is to your liking you can download a copy for free from Computer Magic's official website here: http://thecomputermagic.com/post/42795224034/its-like-1996
SummersRadio™ New Music! Computer Magic - 'Everest' (Demo)
Computer Magic have just posted a new song online called 'Everest'! We've featured Brooklyn's Danz aka Computer Magic several times over the past year - she has a beautiful voice, interesting lyrics, and the production on her music is sublime. This is actually just a demo but it sounds like it could easily be the finished product - it has a nice warm quality to it.
So far Computer Magic have released four EP's - the most recent is 'Orion' which is available on itunes. The three previous EP's: 'Hiding From Our Time', 'Hiding From More Of Our Time' (or 'Hiding II'), and 'Spectronic' are all available as free downloads from the band's official website here: http://thecomputermagic.com/
'Everest' features some pleasantly melancholy synths and Danz's always lovely vocals - and will be included on the band's upcoming full length debut... Enjoy!
As we've discussed before an artist doesn't need a million dollars to make a decent or memorable video. This new clip for 'Trinity' demonstrates this perfectly as it was 'shot with an iPhone and a flashlight in the dark'! I love the singer Danz's voice and the atmospheric synths... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! 'Kitsune Maison Compilation 12: The Good Fun Issue'! Computer Magic - 'Ex Believer'/ Lemaitre - 'Excuse Me' I've always liked the 'Kitsune Maison' compilation series put out by the French music and fashion label Kitsune - as they feature both electronic and indie rock songs and artists - and their newest edition is no exception! 'Kitsune Maison Compilation 12: The Good Fun Issue' features 15 tracks and is available on cd and as a download - with itunes featuring a bonus 16th track. I've chosen two of my favorites - one more indie leaning tune, and one more electronic!
First up we have Computer Magic - a band from Brooklyn that are currently unsigned - aside from this song that's been scooped up by Kitsune of course. Although the live incarnation of Computer Magic features four members, it's actually the solo project of a 21 year old student named Danielle aka Danz. We previously featured her cover of John Lennon's '(Just Like) Starting Over' back in July which you can revisit here: http://summersradio.blogspot.com/2011/07/summersradio-new-music-computer-magic.html
Computer Magic's beautiful vocals and harmonies remind me a bit of The School - and musically speaking they both have a dreamy 60's pop sound - but this song's a bit trippier. It's funny too that The School's debut album was called 'Loveless Unbeliever' - and this song is called 'Ex Believer'! (you can go back to School as it were here: http://summersradio.blogspot.com/2010/12/summersradio-best-of-2010-school.html) :)
I love the spacey production on this song, and the lyrics - especially the line 'What's the sense of being in myself when I'm so far away?' - brilliant! This the second track on the compilation... Enjoy!
Lemaitre are a duo from Oslo Norway that list Daft Punk, Boys Noize and Justice as influences. Indeed this song starts out sounding very much like Justice - but I also like the singers voice - and I really like how the track morphs into techno territory about 2:22 in!
This is Lemaitre's new song called 'Excuse Me' - the eighth track on the new 'Kitsune Maison Compilation 12: The Good Fun Issue'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Computer Magic - '(Just Like) Starting Over' Computer Magic is the solo project of Danielle - who goes by Danz - a 21 year old dj/ student who lives in Brooklyn. She started Computer Magic a year ago and so far she's recorded and posted 18 electronic pop songs on Soundcloud which you can check out here: http://soundcloud.com/computer-magic/tracks
This is her newest recording - a cover of John Lennon's '(Just Like) Starting Over' - the first single from his 'Double Fantasy' album with Yoko Ono, which was released in 1980. The production is not quite as elaborate at Lennon's of course, but I quite like Danz's voice. This is Computer Magic's cover of '(Just Like) Starting Over'... Enjoy!
