SummersRadio™ New Cover/ Video! School Of Seven Bells - 'I Got Knocked Down (But I'll Get Up)'
School Of Seven Bells have released a new song and video online called 'I Got Knocked Down (But I'll Get Up)'! The song is a cover of the track written by Joey Ramone from his posthumous 2002 album 'Don't Worry About Me'. The cover is the last song that School Of Seven Bells member Benjamin Curtis worked on before he died from lymphoma in December of last year - and it's available now on iTunes. http://smarturl.it/sviibknockdown
Benjamin Curtis kept working on recording music on his laptop while he was in the hospital and the other half of the duo - Alejandra de la Deheza - plans to finish the recording and release a new album. This version is quite different from Joey Ramone's original - it has a dreamy, surreal New Order-ish feel to it.
The video is currently premiering on Youtube exclusively by Culture Collide - and for this reason the video is not yet available to embed here on our blog. When/ if it becomes available I will post it, but for now we can only provide the link - but it's more than worth the extra click to check this one out - the video is a beautiful tribute to Curtis... Brooklyn duo 'School Of Seven Bells' have just released a new song online called 'Secret Days'! 'Secret Days' is the first single from the band's forthcoming new EP called 'Put Your Sad Down' which will be released digitally on November 13th on the Ghostly International/ Vagrant labels.
The 'Put Your Sad Down' EP features five tracks - four new original songs - and a cover of the Silver Apples song 'Lovefingers'. 'Secret Days' is the second song on the EP and it features their lovely layered vocal harmonies and effects over a hypnotic shuffling dance beat... Enjoy!

School Of Seven Bells have just released their new single online - a cover of Siouxsie and the Banshees 'Kiss The For Me'! Although not featured on their latest album 'Ghostory' which was released in February on the Ghostly International label, the song has been a staple of their live shows. It was officially released as a limited 7" single for Record Store Day on the weekend - and it's now available on itunes as well.
'Kiss Them For Me' was originally released as the first single from Siouxsie and the Banshee's album 'Superstition' in 1991. This is a really good cover - it's quite faithful to the original in overall structure - but with the addition of newer industrial tinged electronics... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ School Of Seven Bells - 'Babelonia' School Of Seven Bells consists of Benjamin Curtis (former member of Secret Machines) and identical twins Alejandra and Claudia Deheza (formerly of On!Air!Library!) - although it was announced just last month on their Facebook page that Claudia has left the band for personal reasons. They released their second album entitled 'Disconnect From Desire' on July 13th. This track is perhaps my favorite from the album called 'Babelonia'- it has a dreamy indie rock sound reminiscent of the shoegazer sound of bands like Curve and early Lush - Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Video! School Of Seven Bells - 'I L U' School of Seven Bells will be returning to Vancouver to perform on Jan. 27th at the Orpheum - opening for Interpol! They've just released the new video for the latest single from their second album called 'Disconnect From Desire' called 'I L U' - and it has a puppet show in it! It's equal parts romantic, beautiful, dark and kinda creepy - just like love - Enjoy!
