Welcome to Startlefest 2014! 'The Witch' is a song from The Cult which was first released in 1992 as part of the live action/ animated film soundtrack 'Cool World'.
'Cool World' starred Brad Pitt and Kim Basinger and the soundtrack also featured Electronic, Moby, Ministry, Thompson Twins and David Bowie - but alas the soundtrack has been out of print for many years.
The original version of 'The Witch' was a wicked seven minutes long but that version has yet to make it to the world wide web - how evil! This version is from the 'Pure Cult' collection originally called 'Pure Cult: For Rockers, Ravers, Lovers and Sinners'. The production is still amazing on this track - it sounds rather like a cross between the Jesus & Mary Chain and Queen... Enjoy!

First the bad news - after 25 years together Orbital have decided to call it quits - again! They've officially announced it on their website: http://orbitalofficial.com/news.asp Boo. Hiss.
The good news is that one half of the brotherly duo (Paul Hartnoll) already has a new song, video and an upcoming album and tour in the works! '8:58' is the name of his new project - it's also the name of the debut single and video.
'8:58' sounds rather like Orbital (shocker!) - it's multidimensional, grand, wacky, orchestral and insightful - and it features an intro by actor Cillian Murphy. If it's to your liking the song is currently available as a free download here: http://eightfiftyeight.com/
