SummersRadio™ New Music/ Video! Mazzy Star!

SummersRadio™ New Music/ Video! Mazzy Star - 'I'm Less Here' (Official Video)

Happy 420 - and Easter - everyone! I hope that you all enjoyed Record Store Day yesterday - this is one of literally hundreds of new releases (mostly on vinyl) made available this weekend to help celebrate your local indie record shop. http://www.recordstoreday.com/

Mazzy Star have released a new song and video called 'I'm Less Here' - which is available on a limited edition 'coke-bottle' clear 7" single backed by the song 'Things'.

Although it's new in the previously unreleased sense, the origin of 'I'm Less Here' may date as far back as 1996 - as the song references 'Among My Swan' - also the name of their third album.

To set the mood perfectly the band has made a beautiful surreal video to accompany the song... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! MGMT!

SummersRadio™ New Music! MGMT - 'Alien Days'/ 'Time To Pretend'

MGMT have released a new single online called 'Alien Days'! 'Alien Days' is the first song to surface from the band's forthcoming third studio album which is set for release in June. The song was actually released as a cassingle (!) on Saturday for Record Store Day, but it's not available to purchase online just yet.

'Alien Days' seems more in line with the drugged out psychedelia of their second album 'Congratulations' than some of the synthpop hits from 2007's 'Oracular Spectacular'. I like the heavy drums on this one... Enjoy!

Bonus Track! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to feature the MGMT classic 'Time To Pretend' because both the song and the video are so awesome... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music/ Video! Moby & Mark Lanegan!

SummersRadio™ New Music/ Video! Moby & Mark Lanegan - 'The Lonely Night' (Official Video)

Moby and Mark Lanegan have just released a new EP today called 'The Lonely Night'! 'The Lonely Night' EP features four tracks - the original plus three remixes from Photek, Gregor Treshor, and one from Moby himself. The song was released as a limited 7 inch single on Saturday on his own Little Idiot label for Record Store Day - and the full EP is available exclusively on Beatport as of today: http://www.beatport.com/release/the-lonely-night/1071897

The song has an eerie, ominous feel to it - Moby describes the production process: “…and in producing the song, spike stent and i incorporated some very unusual production techniques... we ran all of the instruments through a distortion pedal into a guitar amp. so really there are only 3 tracks: left channel through a distortion pedal and guitar amp, right channel through a distortion pedal and guitar amp, and mark's vocals.  The end result is intentionally very broken and atmospheric."

This is the equally mesmerizing video for 'The Lonely Night' directed by time-lapse photographer Colin Rich... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Beastie Boys!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Beastie Boys - 'Make Some Noise' Brooklyn's Beastie Boys are releasing their new single 'Make Some Noise' next week! It's from their new forthcoming album 'Hot Sauce Committee Part Two' which is released on May 3rd. They had originally intended to release 'Hot Sauce Committee Part One' in September of 2009, but it's release and their touring schedule was put on hold with the announcement that summer that Adam Yanch had cancer and needed surgery. According to latest reports 'Hot Sauce Committee Part Two' is now actually the tracklist that was intended for part one - so when and if part one is actually released remains to be seen.

'Make Some Noise' will be released digitally next week - Monday in the U.K. and Tuesday in North America. It will also be released on a limited 7 inch single later in the week to coincide with Record Store Day on the 16th - and the b-side will feature a remix by Passion Pit. This is the original mix of 'Make Some Noise'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Danger Mouse & Jack White!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi featuring Jack White - 'Two Against One' Since 2005 producer extraordinaire Brian Joseph Burton aka Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi have been composing a spaghetti western album! Jack White and Norah Jones are the main vocalists on the album that also features musicians who played on the original Ennio Morricone scores from the 60's. If you didn't know, a spaghetti western is a sub-genre of western films that were dubbed as such because the films were largely produced and directed by Italians - and originally filmed and released with Italian dialogue.

The album is called 'Rome' and is released on May 16th. The first single 'Two Against One' will be a limited (1,000 copies) 7" release in the U.K. to coincide with Record Store Day - which is April 16th! Despite being a spaghetti western composition, Jack White's vocals makes 'Two Against One' sound very much like it could be from a White Stripes album - but then they always had a western look and feel to a lot of their music, so it's a great fit... Enjoy!
