SummersRadio™ New Music/ Remix! Friendly Fires! Hot Since 82!
SummersRadio™ New Music/ Remix! Friendly Fires - 'Why Don't You Answer' (Hot Since 82 Remix/ Eberhard Schoener & Sting - 'Why Don't You Answer' (Lukas T. Velvet Remix)
Hot Since 82 have just released a new remix of Friendly Fires new single online today! The Leeds dj/ producer just posted this remix of Friendly Fires new cover of 'Why Don't You Answer' from the latest 'Late Night Tales' compilation on Soundcloud this morning.
This is 30th installment of the series and it's compiled by Friendly Fires. The 'Late Night Tales' series has always embraced diversity and this edition is no exception as it features twenty tracks from artists such as Junior Boys, Stereolab, SBTRK, Slowdive - and Olivia Newton-John!
'Late Night Tales' is available as a download, cd, a cd plus art print set, and on limited double vinyl. It's available on itunes and from the label's official website here: http://latenighttales.co.uk/product.php/184/friendly-fires-late-night-tales/7a59bd7db193116f8fa3a366acfae61f
For their own exclusive track (a staple of the 'Late Night' series) Friendly Fires chose an excellent song to cover - 'Why Don't You Answer' - a song recorded by Germany's Eberhard Schoener featuring the vocals of Sting, which first appeared on his 1978 album 'Flashback'.
The compilation is out now and this new remix by Hot Since 82 will be released on November 19th... Enjoy!
Bonus Track! The Friendly Fires cover of 'Why Don't You Answer' made me want to check out (revisit?) the original - which was familiar to my subconscious although I'm unsure of just when and where I heard it. This led to this remix of the original by Lukas T. Velvet - which appears on the digital reissue of 'Flashback' that came out last year.
This remix makes the original a bit punchier - more techno if you will... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ Best Of 2010! Friendly Fires!
SummersRadio™ Best Of 2010! Friendly Fires - 'Strangelove' 'Strangelove' was Depeche Mode's 18th single in the U.K. - released in 1987 (88 in North America) - and was from their brilliant 'Music For The Masses' album. This August Friendly Fires recorded the song for use in a Gucci Guilty perfume ad in the U.K. I was a bit weary when I first heard about this - but it's a grower - their cover is faithful enough to the original to be respectable but also different enough to be interesting... Enjoy!
