SummersRadio™ New Music/ Video! Kasabian!

SummersRadio™ New Music/ Video! Kasabian - 'Eez-eh' (Official Video)

Kasabian have just released a new song online called 'Eez-eh'! 'Eez-eh' is the first single from the Leicester band's forthcoming fifth studio album called '48:13' - which is set for release on June 9th on Sony. 'Eez-eh' will be released commercially a week prior on June 2nd.

'Eez-eh' sounds rather like Love & Rockets and The Clash meet the spirit of Blondie's 'Heart Of Glass' - with a dash of techno... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download + Bonus Tracks! Gorillaz!

SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download + Bonus Tracks! Gorillaz featuring James Murphy & Andre 3000 - 'Do Ya Thing' (includes free download!)/ Blursabian (Blur vs Kasabian) - 'There's No LSF' (Party Ben Mashup)/ Gorillaz featuring James Murphy & Andre 3000 - 'Do Ya Thing' (Full 13 Minute Explicit Version)

Gorillaz have just released a new single online featuring James Murphy and Andre 3000! The song is part of the Converse '3 Artists, 1 Song' series - and ties in with the release of the limited edition 'Chuck Taylor Gorillaz Collection' which features artwork designed by Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett:

Truth be told I've had a wicked hangover all day today, so I may be a bit harder to please than usual - but even after multiple listens I'm not sure that this song is to my liking. Although this single is a one off, I'd be much more excited to see/ hear a new song from Blur than Gorillaz.

The idea is certainly not unpossible as Damon Albarn will be reuniting with his Blur mates to headline a concert in London's Hyde Park on August 12 to coincide with the closing ceremonies of the summer Olympics. The concert is billed as the 'Best Of British' and will also feature The Specials and New Order - I want to go! It seems like the perfect time to debut something new, doesn't it?

While I keep that dream alive for now, today we have this new Gorillaz track - 'Do Ya Thing' - featuring former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy and Outkast's Andre 3000. My first impression was that it sounded rather similar to 'Feel Good Inc.' initially - but with far too many words/ too much knattering - and a much weaker musical backing track. I love James Murphy but I've never been a big fan of falsetto vocals - and Andre 3000's squawking about a new Outkast album is just plain annoying. But that's just my opinon - what do you think?

If this version of 'Do Ya Thing' is to your liking you can download a copy for free from the official Converse website here: http://play.converse.com/blog/2012/02/23/doyathing/ Enjoy!

Bonus Track! Blursabian - 'There's No LSF' (Party Ben Mashup)

I don't normally post a track that isn't to my liking, so I feel a bit soiled with the above post - so I must counter attack it by also featuring an awesome mashup! This is a classic mashup by San Francisco based dj/ producer/ radio host Party Ben - of Blur's 'There's No Other Way' and Kasabian's 'LSF'... Enjoy!

Bonus Bonus Track! Gorillaz featuring James Murphy & Andre 3000 - 'Do Ya Thing' (Full 13 Minute Explicit Version) The four minute version of 'Do Ya Thing' is actually an edit of the song - the full version is set to be available on http://gorillaz.com/ on March 3rd, but it's already been leaked online. There's also an official video being released on Wednesday (the 29th) - and Gorillaz video's are usually pretty elaborate so I may add it on to this post later if it's good.

I like how this version gets rockier about four and half minutes in (and a bit spaced out near the end) but again I think Andre 3000 ruins it by shouting how he's 'the shit' endlessly - drop the 'the' and I'm tempted to agree with him. Instead of the usual 'Enjoy' I say listen if you dare... :)

SummersRadio™ Classic Remixes! Kasabian!

SummersRadio™ Classic Remixes! Kasabian - 'Vlad The Impaler' (Zane Lowe Remix)/ 'Where Did All The Love Go?' (Burns Remix) I mentioned yesterday that I thought the new Kasabian track 'Switchblade Smile' had a lot of potential for club remixes - and Kasabian has always delivered when it comes to fine remixes. I thought I'd post a couple from their last album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' - which was released in June 2009 and was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize, and won best album at the 2009 Q Awards - in case you haven't heard them in a while, or missed them the first time around.

Both of these acid techno inspired remixes were included on the single for 'Where Did All The Love Go?' - the 'Zane Lowe Remix' of 'Vlad The Impaler' was the b-side on the cd single, and the 'Burns Remix' was the b-side on the 10" vinyl single - and both are available as a download on itunes. First up we have the remix of 'Vlad The Impaler' by London's Zane Lowe - the BBC Radio 1 dj who is aka 'Zipper' - which, I suppose, is slighty better than being known as 'Zipperhead'... Enjoy!

And this is 'Burns Remix' of 'Where Did All The Love Go?'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Kasabian!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Kasabian - 'Switchblade Smile' The first song from Kasabian's forthcoming new album has been released to radio in the U.K. and surfaced online! 'Switchblade Smile' is the name of the track and it's still unknown at this point if it's the first official single - or just a taster from the album.

Kasabian are from Leicestershire England and they are set to release their fourth studio album called 'Velociraptor!' on September 19th - it contains 10 tracks and 'Switchblade Smile' is the album closer. It's an interesting song - it rocks but there are some nice keyboard bits in it as well which would certainly work well with some club remixes in the future - this is 'Switchblade Smile'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Arctic Monkeys!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Arctic Monkeys - 'Brick By Brick' Sheffield's Arctic Monkeys have just released a brand new song online this weekend called 'Brick By Brick'! Although it's not going to be the first single, it's the first new song to surface from their forthcoming as yet untitled new studio album (their fourth) due out this summer.

Singer Alex Turner sounds a bit like Iggy Pop on this one - which is funny because Iggy Pop released an album in 1990 called 'Brick By Brick' which turned out to be his first recording to ever go gold. This isn't a cover song though - but you can check out Iggy in a rare reflective mood on his own lyrically superior 'Brick By Brick' song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0vHpOUOtyw

Arctic Monkey's 'Brick By Brick' is very 60's sounding - particularly the chorus - which is also quite similar to Kasabian's 2009 hit 'Fire' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agVpq_XXRmU

So perhaps not entirely original then, but this is the Arctic Monkeys new song... Enjoy!
