Friendly Fires - 'Strangelove' 'Strangelove' was Depeche Mode's 18th single in the U.K. - released in 1987 (88 in North America) - and was from their brilliant 'Music For The Masses' album. This August Friendly Fires recorded the song for use in a Gucci Guilty perfume ad in the U.K. I was a bit weary when I first heard about this - but it's a grower - their cover is faithful enough to the original to be respectable but also different enough to be interesting...
