SummersRadio™ New Music! Kollektiv Turmstrasse - 'Ordinary' (Lake People's Circle Motive Remix)/ 'Lapacha' (Alex Q's Wir Geben Nicht Auf Mix)
Hamburg duo Kollektiv Turmstrasse have just released a new remix EP called 'Ordinary'! The EP is over 76 minutes in length and features a whopping ten remixes - four of a song called 'Lapacha' - and six of the title track. It's released on the Musik Gewinnt Freunde label and it's available on both itunes and Beatport (cheaper on itunes).
What's particularly impressive about this EP is that the remixes are all such unique journeys that you'd never know that it was only two different tracks - as it flows like a great melodic ambient techno album should. I've chosen two standouts from it - first up is impeccably produced 'Lake People's Circle Motive Remix' of 'Ordinary' - the fifth track on the EP... Enjoy!
'Alex Q's Wir Geben Nicht Auf Mix' of 'Lapacha' is the opening track on the 'Ordinary' EP. It's accompanied here by a video simply featuring a couple of families having a day out at the beach, but it's shot so beautifully that it's actually quite surreal and it fits the song nicely... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Boris Dlugosch - 'Cycle' (Etienne De Crecy's Electronic Jail Remix)
Hamburg's Boris Dlugosch has just released a new EP called 'Cycle'! The three track EP features the original mix along with remixes from Etienne De Crecy and VNNR. It's released on Belgium's Lektroluv label and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/#release/cycle/941037
'Cycles' presents quite a different sound from Dlugosch's many house hits of the 90's - instead going for a more hypnotic electronic/ techno feel. This is 'Etienne De Crecy's Electronic Jail Remix'... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Remix! Guy Gerber - 'Timing' (Kollektiv Turmstrasse Remix) First of all my apologies for the lack of posts this week - Blogger has been in 'read only' mode for most of the week for some reason - but we're back now! Cocoon Recordings is a techno label that was started by Sven Vath in 2000 in Frankfurt Germany. They've just released a new compilation called '11 Years Of Cocoon Recordings: Selected Remix Works'. It contains 13 unmixed tracks as well as a continuous mix from Patrick Kunkel. This is one of two remixes of Guy Gerber's track 'Timing' that appears on the compilation - this one is by the Hamburg duo Kollektiv Turmstrasse... Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Roy RosenfelD - 'Balloons' (Da Fresh Remix) Roy RosenfelD is an artist/ dj/ producer from Jerusalem Israel. He's just released a new remix EP for his track 'Balloons' featuring remixes from France's Da Fresh and Brazil's Glitter. This remix is also included on the latest label compilation from Hamburg Germany's Futureaudio label - called 'Creators Of Techno Vol. 4'.
I've always liked balloons - even songs about balloons! This one sounds like it's about helium ones as the keyboard and vocal bits keep rising up. I'd like to hear this song in a packed giant club during a ballon drop please - make it so! :) This is the Da Fresh remix of 'Balloons'...Enjoy!
SummersRadio™ New Music! Digitalism - '2 Hearts' Digitalism's new song - and their first new material since their 'Blitz' EP last November - has just been released online today! (Historical factoid: 'Blitz' was featured in my first post - when the SummersRadio™ Facebook group expanded to official blog status last Oct. 24th! http://summersradio.blogspot.com/2010/10/summersradio-new-music.html)
'2 Hearts' is noted as the 'first single' from the Hamburg band's forthcoming second album (I don't know if they forgot about 'Blitz' - or if it's not going to be included on the album at this point) which is called 'I Love You, Dude' (!) and set to be released on June 17th. This song is much more rock/ pop than the electronic 'Blitz' - but then their debut album straddled both genres as well - this is '2 Hearts'... Enjoy!
