SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Nine Inch Nails!

SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Nine Inch Nails - 'Copy Of A'

Nine Inch Nails have just released their new single 'Copy Of A' online! 'Copy Of A' is scheduled to be the second single from their forthcoming album 'Hesitation Marks' which is released on September 3rd. The 'Deluxe Edition' will feature remixes by Todd Rundgren, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, and Oneohtrix Point Never.

Amazon U.K. has made the song available as a free download for a limited time here: http://www.amazon.com/Copy-of-a/dp/B00ECJ2H4M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376366703&sr=8-1&keywords=nine+inch+nails+copy+of+a

'Copy Of A' is much more electronic based and not quite as dark and menacing sounding as the first single 'Came Back Haunted', and it should lend itself well to a variety of remixes... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music + Concert News! Nine Inch Nails!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Nine Inch Nails - 'Come Back Haunted'

Nine Inch Nails have just released a new single online called 'Come Back Haunted'! 'Come Back Haunted' is the first single from Nine Inch Nails new forthcoming album somewhat disturbingly titled 'Hesitation Marks' - which refers to marks inflicted from self-harm.

The album is scheduled for release on September 3rd on Columbia Records and it will be available as a download, a single cd, a double deluxe cd and on vinyl which you can pre-order here: http://store.nin.com/

Nine Inch Nails will also be touring extensively in support of the new album - playing festivals throughout the summer followed by the 'Nine Inch Nails Live: Tension 2013' tour which will be coming to Vancouver on November 21st at Rogers Arena. Tickets go on sale to the public on June 21st with a pre-sale beginning on the 17th - more information on the tour can be found on the link above.

'Come Back Haunted' is available on iTunes as of today and is a fine return to form for Trent Reznor - I look forward to hearing some remixes of this one... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! How To Destroy Angels!

SummersRadio™ New Music! How To Destroy Angels - 'Keep It Together'

How To Destroy Angels have just released a new single today called 'Keep it Together'! How To Destroy Angels consists of Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor, his wife Mariqueen Maandig, Atticus Ross and artist Rob Sheridan. They released a self titled EP in 2010 and 'Keep It Together' is the first single from their forthcoming second EP called 'An Omen' - which will feature six tracks and it's released on November 13th. Their debut full length album will be released next year but there's no release date set just yet - the new single is available on itunes as of today.

Perhaps not surprisingly How To Destroy Angels sound does not differ that greatly from that of Nine Inch Nails - their quieter, moodier side that is. The music is minimal, dark and atmospheric - with the one notable difference being the soft female vocals of his wife Mariqueen. This official video isn't going to win any awards (feel free to skip the first 35 seconds of tape cueing!) but it's a decent song about trying to - or failing to - 'Keep It Together'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ Rare Remix/ Remixes! David Bowie!

SummersRadio™ Rare Remix/ Remixes! David Bowie - 'Fame '90' (Absolutely Nothing Premeditated/ Epic Mix)/ 'I'm Afraid Of Americans' (V1)/ 'Hallo Spaceboy' (PSB Remix) It's David Bowie's birthday! David Robert Jones aka David Bowie was born in London in 1947 - so he's 65 today! We shall celebrate his lengthy, distinguished career with a few selections - three remixes (one quite rare) from his great body of work.

First up we have 'Fame '90' - a rare remix called the 'Absolutely Nothing Premeditated/ Epic Mix' - and it is indeed epic - clocking in at a massive 14 minutes and 26 seconds! 'Fame' was first released as a single in 1975 from his 'Young Americans' album - and it became his first number one single in North America.

I don't recall what year the 'Fame '90' remixes came out :) but I do know that they were released on various formats including cd, 7", and 12" singles - and they featured remixes from the likes of D.J. Mark "The 45 King" (which also featured vocals from the always lovely Queen Latifah), Ron Fair, Arthur Baker, Jon Gass, and this remix from David Barrett.

There is an EP for 'Fame '90' available on itunes but it features the 'Bonus Beat Mix' instead of this most excellent and now out of print 'Absolutely Nothing Premeditated/ Epic Mix'... Enjoy!

David Bowie - 'Fame '90' (Absolutely Nothing Premeditated / Epic Mix) by SummersRadio™

'I'm Afraid Of Americans' was co-written by Bowie and Brian Eno in 1995 during the 'Outside' recording sessions, and a rough mix of it appears on the soundtrack to 'Showgirls' - with the slighty different, less political lyric 'I'm afraid of the animals'. It didn't see a proper release until it was re-recorded and included on his 1997 album 'Earthling'.

When the cd and 12" singles were released in North America they featured six new (non-album) remixes - numbered V1 - V6 - including remixes from Nine Inch Nails (three of them), Dave 'Rave' Ogilvie, and Photek. This is the 'V1' remix (available on itunes) by Trent Reznor, who also appears in the video - which was inspired by the film 'Taxi Driver' - as a creepy stalker character... Enjoy!

'Hallo Spaceboy' first appeared as a track on 'Outside', but when it was released as a single in the U.K. and Europe the following year, it was re-recorded and radically remixed by the Pet Shop Boys as a more dance friendly song, that featured additional vocals from PSB's Neil Tennant. I love the lines 'Do you like girls or boys? It's confusing these days'... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Nine Inch Nails!

SummersRadio™ New Music! Nine Inch Nails - 'Zoo Station' As mentioned in Sunday's Jack White post - the new issue of Q magazine hits the stands today - along with a bonus cd called called 'Ahk-toong Bay-bi Covered'. It's a track by track album of covers by some big name artists to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of U2's Achtung Baby album. Since it's unlikely that many of us outside of the U.K. will be able to buy a copy, I thought I'd feature another song from it today!

'Zoo Station' is of course the opening track on the album and if you were expecting Trent Reznor to deliver a banging industrial version of the song, you may be a titch disappointed - as he's opted for a rather restrained approach. The way U2's version begins is a bit industrial sounding already - so perhaps that's why he chose to go in the opposite direction - maybe he just didn't want to do what people were expecting him to do. Or perhaps now that he's 46 maybe he's just mellowed out - in any case here's Nine Inch Nails rather chilled cover of 'Zoo Station'... Enjoy!
