SummersRadio™ New Music! Gary Beck - 'Skiver'/ 'Unaware'

Gary Beck has just released his new full length album called 'Bring A Friend'! 'Bring A Friend' features ten tracks including the first single 'Before The Crash' which we featured last month: http://summersradio.blogspot.ca/2012/08/summersradio-new-music-bonus-track-gary_22.html The album is released on Glasgow's Soma Records label - in fact it's their 100th album release - and it's available now on itunes.

I'm going to feature not one but two more tracks from it - because it's that good. First up is 'Skiver' - the sixth track on the album - which I declare to be an instant Stoner House™ classic! 'Skiver' has an ominous feel to it with it's pulsating bass, wavering keyboards and hypnotic vocals - and the production is nothing short of astounding... 'Unaware' is the fifth track on 'Bring A Friend' and it's one of a couple songs on the album infused with some acid techno goodness ('D51' is also awesome) and like every track on the album it's sonic perfection... Enjoy!

Glasgow's Gary Beck has just released a new EP called 'Before The Crash'! The two track EP features the original mix of the title track and a song called 'Hopkin'. It's released on Soma Records and it's currently available exclusively on Beatport:

Bonus Track! Now I'm not sure if this is the source or not, but the female vocal sample in 'Before The Crash' reminds me of the vocal bits from Size 9's techno/ house classic 'I'm Ready'.

Size 9 is an alias of Philadelphia's Josh Wink who released this massive club hit in 1995 on his own Ovum Recordings label, which he founded with King Britt in '94. This is the 'Remix Version' in it's full unedited (nearly) twelve minutes of glory... Enjoy!

SummersRadio™ New-ish Music! (previously unreleased) Daft Punk! Bonus Track!

SummersRadio™ New-ish Music! (previousy unreleased) Daft Punk - 'Drive'/ Daft Punk - 'Derezzed' (Casettes Won't Listen Remix) + Free Download! A previously unreleased Daft Punk song from 1994 (!) is being released today! (after midnight) :) Soma Records - the Scottish techno/ house label started by Slam is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary this year - and they've just released a new compilation appropriately titled 'Soma Records 20 Years'!

The release is available as a triple cd set and download. The first disc is subtitled 'Soma Classics' and features 11 tracks - the opener being this Daft Punk song. Disc two is a 'Slam DJ Mix' featuring 19 tracks and disc three is a 'Silicone Soul DJ Mix' collection featuring 18 tracks.  

'Drive' was recorded in 1994 - so Soma's been sitting on this gem for 17 years! This predates the Soma release of the 'Da Funk' single by two years - and their debut album 'Homework' by three. Funny thing is though - if you compare 'Drive' to say 'Derezzed' from their soundtrack to 'Tron: Legacy' - one might say that their sound has been rather... consistent. This is the previously unreleased 'Drive' from Daft Punk... Enjoy!
