SummersRadio™ New Music + Bonus Track! The Presets - 'Ghosts'/ 'Split Enz 'Six Months In A Leaky Boat'

The Presets have just released their latest single called 'Ghosts'! 'Ghosts' is the second single (following 'Youth In Trouble') from their forthcoming third album 'Pacifica' which is released September 7th on Modular Recordings.

'Ghosts' is very different from 'Youth In Trouble' - as it's much more laid back affair. I definitely prefer 'Youth...' about 100 times over at this point - but I'm not going to write this one off just yet as they haven't made a proper video (and they do make good ones) and I reckon some remixes could certainly save this one. It sounds a bit like a song one might sing on a boat - so it may go over well with pirates :)

Bonus Track! The new Presets single reminded me of a classic seafaring summer tune from another band from downunder - although from New Zealand rather than Australia.

Split Enz released 'Six Months In A Leaky Boat' as the second single from their album 'Time And Tide' way back in 1982. I like this video version of the song as it also includes the brief instrumental tune 'Pioneer' (which preceded the song and segued into it on the album) as it's intro... Enjoy!

The Bats - 'Free All The Monsters' New Zealand's The Bats have released their new studio album (their eighth) earlier this week! It's called 'Free All The Monsters' and is released on the Flying Nun label. The title track is the first single and video - out just in time for Halloween and STARTLEFEST 2011!
