Toronto's Metric are releasing their brand new single 'Youth Without Youth' online tomorrow! 'Youth Without Youth' is the first single from their forthcoming fifth studio album called 'Synthetica', which is set to be released on June 12th. Like 2009's fantastic 'Fantasies' album 'Synthetica' will be released on their own Metric Music International label. The single will be available on itunes tomorrow and I reckon through their official website as well: http://www.ilovemetric.com/
This Soundcloud clip also contains a two and a half minute commentary about the evolution of the song itself from singer Emily Haines and guitarist Jimmy Shaw. They've gone for what they call a '70's sleaze' sound here - upfront guitars with heavy drums. I love Emily Haines voice so much I could buy an album just of her speaking :)
