Jim James has just released a new remix online - and announced the winner of a remix contest! The My Morning Jacket frontman released his debut solo album in February called 'Regions Of Light And Sound Of God' - and he's just released a new remix of the first single 'Know Til Now' on Soundcloud called the 'Pixelated Remix'.

My Morning Jacket's vocalist/ guitarist/ songwriter Jim James has just released a new solo song online! 'Know Til Now' is the first song and video released from James' forthcoming debut full length solo album called 'Regions Of Light And Sound Of God' - a rather lofty title I must say.
The album is scheduled for release on February 5th, 2013 on the ATO Records label and this single is available now on itunes. You can also pre-order the album digitally, on cd, on vinyl, and as a limited (to 500) package that features 'Your choice of CD or vinyl. Lofty album title aside I was pretty blown away by 'Know Til Now' upon my first listen. It begins quietly with that ethereal My Morning Jacket vibe. What follows is a magical sonic journey mixing soulful Motown, electronic synths, wonderful vocal effects and a touch of jazz. It has the feel of a decades old classic that also manages to sound refreshingly new.
And this video - yet another perfect example of how low cost creativity always trumps big budget music clips. It's a simple loop that makes you wait and wonder - and it's ever so effective at hypnotizing me... Enjoy!

Tim Burgess - the lead singer of The Charlatans - is releasing a new solo album called 'Oh No I Love You' on October 1st! 'Oh No I Love You' will be his second solo outing following 2003's 'I Believe' - and it's released on the OGenesis label. The album was written with Kurt Wagner and it features musicians from his band Lambchop, as well as members of Clem Snide and My Morning Jacket.
The ten track album will be a available on a number of formats including a single cd, a deluxe double cd that contains six remixes (five of which are exclusive to the bonus disc), on vinyl, and on a deluxe digital download that features three remixes - one from the bonus cd as well as two other exclusive remixes.
