SummersRadio™ New Music + Free Download! Chromatics - 'Ceremony'
Portland's Chromatics have just released a new song online - a cover of New Order's 'Ceremony'! 'Ceremony' was written by Joy Division but after Ian Curtis' suicide the song was released as the first single from the newly renamed band - as New Order - in 1981.
The Chromatics Johnny Jewel released a new mix on Soundcloud this week called 'Black & White/ A Mix For Autumn' which features the band covering 'Ceremony' - along with special guest Ida No from Glass Candy on guitar.
If this cover is to your liking you can download the individual song for free courtesy of Stereogum here: http://stereogum.com/1213951/chromatics-ceremony-new-order-cover/mp3s/ or as part of the full 'Black & White...' mix m'here: http://soundcloud.com/johnnyjewel/black-and-white-autumn-mix
This is quite an interesting cover - on one hand it's quite faithful to the original - but at the same time it's also a slower, dreamier, rather romantic take on the song... Enjoy!
