SummersRadio™ New Rework/ Remix! Kate Bush - 'Deeper Understanding' (Director's Cut) Well this certainly was a wonderful surprise - finding out that one of my all time favorite artists was releasing something new-ish! Here's the whole story... Kate Bush has recently regained full control of four of her albums from her longtime label EMI - 'The Dreaming', 'Hounds Of Love', 'The Sensual World' and 'The Red Shoes' (the former two being my two personal favorites). On May 16th she's releasing a compilation album on her own Fish People label called the 'Director's Cut' - which features reworkings of 11 tracks from 'The Sensual World' & The Red Shoes'!
Here's the full tracklisting for 'Director's Cut':
1. Flower Of The Mountain (Director's Cut)
2. Song Of Solomon (Director's Cut)
3. Lily (Director's Cut)
4. Deeper Understanding (Director's Cut)
5. The Red Shoes (Director's Cut)
6. This Woman's Work (Director's Cut)
7. Moments Of Pleasure (Director's Cut)
8. Never Be Mine (Director's Cut)
9. Top Of The City (Director's Cut)
10. And So Is Love (Director's Cut)
11. Rubberband Girl (Director's Cut)
Now rework is a funny word when it comes to music - it could mean a slight tweak that is barely noticeable - or something radical. While no one's expecting a metal remix from Kate Bush, if this version of 'Deeper Understanding' is anything to go by, fans will be delighted! 'Deeper Understanding' was originally the sixth track on her 1989 release 'The Sensual World' - at a time when computers weren't yet part of our daily lives. The lyrics are more fitting now than ever, and the production on this version is certainly noticeable - similar enough to be recognizable but different enough to sound new.
This good news is that this version of 'Deeper Understanding' is available for download on itunes as of today! And if that's not enough - in addition the the release of 'Director's Cut' next month - she's also said to be working on a brand new album! Kate Bush fans rejoice - this is the 'Director's Cut' of 'Deeper Understanding'... Enjoy!
