SummersRadio™ Presents... Love Stinks! - A Valentine's Day Spectacular! White Stripes!

SummersRadio™ Love Stinks! - A SummersRadio™ Valentine's Day Spectacular! continues... White Stripes - 'Jolene' (Studio Version) Dolly Parton has certainly written some classic love songs - the heartfelt 'I Will Always Love You' and the innocent 'Love Is Like A Butterfly' come to mind - but they sound worlds away from the pleading insecurity that fuels her chart topping 1973 hit 'Jolene'. Sure, you can meet the right person - but what if they find someone else or someone else decides they want them too??

No doubt you've heard by now that the White Stripes have called it quits - as officially announced on their website on Feb. 2nd. This studio version of 'Jolene' was first released as a b-side to their 2000 single 'Hello Operator' - and a live version was later released as a single in 2004. Aside from being a great cover, what makes this version particularly interesting is the fact that Jack White is singing the lyrics - thus putting a bit of a gay twist on it, adding an entirely new dimension to the song... Enjoy!
